I have asthma and when I'm in a crowded area, I put one on. Nobody cares. I see cashiers, clinics, etc still wear them in my area.
TanukiFrolic · 22-25, M
@Blondily Now every time I get a cold and need to go shopping or whatever, I put on a mask. Just being conscient about others now after that whole thing went down a couple of years ago.
Blondily · F
@TanukiFrolic Exactly
I cannot be anywhere near a sick person. I experienced that in August, got sick then my asthma flared and I had to be put on meds. Wearing a mask can prevent that!

"We already have information from other studies that show almost a dose-response relationship between wearing no mask at all, wearing a cloth mask, wearing a surgical mask and wearing an N95," Justman said. "As you go up the ladder, so to speak, with each step of a better-quality mask, you see more protection."
One example is a study published in February 2022 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention examining those who said they wore masks all the time in indoor public settings.
Researchers found cloth masks were associated with a 56% decrease in testing positive for COVID-19, surgical masks by 66% and N95/KN95 masks by 83% compared to those who didn't wear masks or face coverings.

Masks do nothing. A virus is 200,000 times smaller then the spaces between the threads.
Mmiker · 46-50, M
Interesting. I work in the hospital wear it’s not required
Mmiker · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 “one of the largest” if you google it it’s in the top 5
@Mmiker Mayo Clinic is among the top five in the world, I have seen numerous celebrities and politicians there when I go there myself for my terminal cardiopulmonary issues.
Mmiker · 46-50, M
@NativePortlander1970 they are #1. No doubt.

Don't go there then, back then they try to force everyone. I still didn't do it.
To each their own, if want wear one, wear one. If don't want one, don't wear one. Don't try forcing people to obey.
Besides how is a tiny fabric going to stop a microorganism

@HumanEarth i literally have to go though, i work there
HumanEarth · F
And they're forcing you to wear it.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta to for money. Its like selling you soul.
Say your against prostitution, but you had to do it or be homeless.
You're caught in catch 22. Do you sell out for what you believe in for money or do quit and look for another job

I’m leaving this Saturday for a week and I will definitely wear a mask. 😷 it’s no guarantees that I won’t get sick but hope it helps.
Wireman · 31-35, M
I still love to see peoole alone in a car wearing a mask! MSM people.
Rambler · 61-69, M
Haven't encountered that lately. I probably would for my own protection if I was someplace like a hospital
@Rambler When COVID occurs in the hospital, they all wear masks until it passes.
RSquared · 61-69, M
Some people wear them without there actually being a requirement. I don't know about this location.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
Here, any GP clinic or hospital still demands they are worn by everyone, and that only started during Covid.
funxxx707 · 51-55, M
I will never wear a face diaper ever again
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
There are still a few businesses here that apparently require it just based on my observations, but it’s been a year or so since I’ve been anywhere that I was required to wear one as a customer.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
The only place I'm aware masks are required is the cancer and children's treatment wards which required masks well before 2020.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@Starcrossed we get regular emails directing where and when masks are required. depends on what's going around.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
I never wear one. Never did, never will. They tried to force me once so I made it a chin warmer and oh gee the little strap broke.

Kiesel · 56-60, M
There’s still some places that do?

MasterLee · 56-60, M
All libs should wear depends for our safety
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
They weren’t required in the hospital where I was for surgery last month. There was hand sanitizer near doorways and other places and masks for use if a person wanted to wear them. The nurses would wear them for accessing chemo ports and doing other such things but that was for only a minute or so.
TaraNice · 36-40, F
Why do you hate being required to wear a mask?
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Oh wow I thought we was pass that
SomeMichGuy · M
@smileylovesgaming CoViD was on the rise again a few months ago.

Took the train last week to see a game. Packed in like it was Tokyo for the ride home. I wore a mask, he didn't. Two days later he has a cold, I don't... Coincidence? Maybe!
CestManan · 46-50, F
I think most people COMPLETELY missed the point of the OP.
But besides that, the only time I see masks now is in the thrift stores.

I still wear them when going to the grocery store. I go early when the elderly tend to be in there.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
You have to stand up for your right to spread your germs and infect as many people as possible!
MrGoodbar · 51-55, M
I'm surprised that there are places that still do it, but the more I think about it the more it makes some sense
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
There are still some places but you’re lucky they don’t require knee patches lol
She should remove her mask and eat something 😂
Agoraphobicbeauty · 22-25, F
@Underconstruction imagine someone else's suffering being your humor. You have no soul and no one could ever love you
@Agoraphobicbeauty I don´t live for the opinions of others. You do. Stop being such a whiny snowflake.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔..............I only where one when I make a withdrawal at a bank..........
IamBack · 31-35, M
It’s almost the end of 2024, who still dictates wearing a mask?
Strict4u · 56-60, M
I’m glad we don’t have to wear them here anymore I hate them
Wizardry · 46-50, M
Have seen the odd person wearing a mask where I live.
Sevendays · M
I have to go somewhere today that requires them.
eMortal · M
It's like condoms. Hated but necessary.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
I didn't know they were still needed at all
JohnOlinger81 · 41-45, M
thats crazy the pandemic is over
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@JohnOlinger81 COVID is still around, in a new form every year, and the spread of everything from the flu to the common cold could be by people wearing masks. In many cultures, it's simply common courtesy to wear a mask if you even have just a cold. But leave it to Americans to find a conspiracy behind common sense health measures and scream about their freedom being impinged upon. LOL
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
What happens if you don’t?
mindless · M
What places is that?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@mindless Probably a hospital or somewhere else full of immunocompromised people.
