JFK - I was a kid and shook his hand, he was on a campaign tour I suppose.
It's not like we had lunch or something, but we met.

A sat next to Art Linkletter on a plane. We spoke a bit - he seemed nice.

akindheart · 61-69, F
@Punxi wow!!! that is impressive.
@Punxi OOOOH!😍
Vincent Price....talked to him at length on his break, when rehearsing for a play at the Opera House, and shook his hand. He was quite handsome and charming, even at old age. I so loved his voice. Just like in the movies and he was so kind.

I also went to see Sonny and Cher one time and that was really something. I have also seen the Beach Boys.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@LadyGrace One of my favorites....
Coldplay · 56-60, M

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@CountScrofula yes!!! I was really young, but my mom and I met him in a grocery store!!! He was sooooooo tall, and he was wearing a white suit with black musical notes all over it. I remember being so fascinated by his look lol.
Maya Angelou ? Stevie Wonder ? Nancy Pelosi ? Rosa Parks ?
exexec · 61-69, C
@bijouxbroussard Quite a list!
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Rosa parks is my grandmothers cousin. I think like 2nd cousin. Their hometowns are about 45 mins away.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Its funny how you can tell a bit about someone by which celebrities that they have met which you wouldn't think would be the case but it seems the case for the responses here.
Perhaps we put ourselves in the path of those we admire?

sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@TexChik Rush is #1 on my list, met him quite a few times at the airport and at airshows, always a gentleman, I miss him too
TexChik · F
@sunsporter1649 I thought he had his own plane? I have listen to him since I was 18 (19 years) until his death.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@TexChik Yes, had his own Gulfstream, beautiful inside and out. Airplanes are machines, they need fuel, oil, and maintenance, just like any machine, so while servicing the bird met Rush during my routine. He was always curious about what we were doing and why.

PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
I’m just a dork from the sticks so my idea of famous is different than others. So, for me it’s definitely Deadpool.

Did have a notable lunch with The Punisher once though.

T Boone Pickens, Lots of country music acts (Brooks and Dunn, George Straight, etc when my husband's company wanted to book entertainment for the company Christmas Party (they pinned it on me) ...I tried to find who was going to be close by just before or after another gig. It was easy money and a free night and food in the hotel. Most were very nice . They always laughed at me because I would bring my cowboy boots . I kicked off my heels and put my boots on to dance to their music.

@AlchemyFox yep....I got very lucky.....went on a high school trip to New York and we got to tour the NBC Studios....he was there being interviewed for a radio show. Next thing I knew he came out and introduced himself and shook hands with each of my classmates. Then he did a brief comedy routine.....his usual craziness. It was very special and a memory I'll never forget. That was in 1992.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@Indy74 So cool!!!!!!! What an awesome guy. I’m sure he put on a good show for you guys 😆
Indy74 · 46-50, F
@AlchemyFox it hit me hard when he died.

I've also met Trapt and Breaking Benjamin backstage after their concert. It was so cool. 👍

Several equally famous or not so famous.
Ludacris was buying condoms in line at grocery store in front of me.
NBA Basketball player Matambo (many times) used to come to my job.

Saw Ice Cube walking next to me.
Saw Flava Flav at the mall and again at the airport few years later.

Solange ( Beyonce's sister and her whole family several times)

George W. Bush I worked at a relatively small fundraiser he had back in the day. I used to work at catering on weekends.

Catered a party for Lyle Lovett.

Theres a few more but I can't remember anymore because I don't care about celebrity.

The only one I can say that I spoke with was the NBA player because I saw him so frequently.

I've got all of you beat - I meet Donald Duck at Disneyland.
@Ontheroad well there you are! Absolutely! lol
Akon, actually got to hang out with him, very nice man
Piper · 61-69, F
Dick Clark or Andy Griffith, I guess, although I didn't have any long conversation with them or anything. Didn't with most of the fairly famous people I've met, really. Not even with Stephen King, sadly. He was not especially impressed when I said "that's a Welsh corgi, isn't it?" 😬
DrWatson · 70-79, M
When I was in high school, I was in a play with a guy named Bennett Cohen....who went on to be "Ben" of "Ben and Jerry's" Ice Cream.

The late Dr. Norman Shumway, who was the "father" of Stanford University School of Medicine and Medical Center's cardio-thoracic surgery and their whole cardiac unit itself. He was a fairly well-known transplant surgeon. I was 15 at the time and wanted to be a doctor. So it was huge for me back then.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Charles Dance asked me for directions when I was working on a film set. Though I don't think that counts since I had no idea who he was at the time and the movie sucked.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Thevy29 Was it Last Action Hero? Dance was the villain in that, and it totally sucked.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@SumKindaMunster I forget what it was called. It was about the murder of a Girl in a town called Ceduna and the aboriginal man the cops pegged for the crime and falsely arrested. Apparently the actual place the murder happened wasn't cinematic enough so they shot it at Aldinga Beach.. Which is were I came in, as a consultant on aboriginal cave art.
craig7 · 70-79, M
@Thevy29 I'm old enough to remember those murders at the time - it was actually a triple murder.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
I haven’t really met any famous people. I’ve had dinner with Joe Biden just because we have the same hometown and he was friends with some family.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Arlen Specter, former Senator of PA.
