In what way are you still a kid at heart?

I really love children's books. I'll occasionally take out a few at the library. I used to love pretending I lived in the big , beautiful , colored stories..I felt joy and safety. Two things not in my childhood home.

I also love chocolate chip pancakes and I have zero shame sometimes making or ordering them .🙂

Anytime it snows I get so excited just like I did when I was young. I’ll do things like make hot cocoa, bake something to go with it, go out and take photos etc.

I like to color with crayons too, it’s a lot more fun if there are any children around to do it with.
I get a lot of joy from simple things. Finding a rock. I love chocolate milk, dislike regular lol

Good literature is good literature, whether written for children or adults. The best thing about having children in my life is being able to re-connect with some of the greatest ever stories.

If you give me a coloring book, some colored pencils, or crayons I am on by best behavior .

I’m often mistaken for an adult because of my age.

Still need a night light and stuffed animal to feel like I can sleep safely.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Nearly everything I do revolves around music, as it always has. I still watch cartoons, still eat cereal. Being an adult is overrated.

I wish I'd had a countdown clock when my childhood was about to expire.

@Coralmist i was born 2ft tall was 5ft 11 by age 7 i was never a "child".
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@exchrist I'm so sorry for those injuries 🥺 you are truly a survivor to say the least🌺

I didn't have many physical injuries but I had constant severe ridicule and domestic violence around the clock, for two decades growing up .a hellish environment. But I think in those traumas, the child inside that never got to BE a child, carefree etc. was hiding in me. I now like acting silly and I went into teaching years ago to help kids, as I felt somewhere inside my inner child couldn't exist in me. Now I embrace that curious or light child demeanor sometimes... perhaps yours also got trapped inside and you just have to give them permission to be who you weren't able to years ago.
exchrist · 36-40
@Coralmist i have to physically heal to be able to do that properly. At this time im getting near to that. Regardless yes i hope to foster my inner child upon regaining my ability to ambulate painlessly. I think my arm will regain use soon too.then ill be a "kid" again.

The keyword is Peter pan syndrome. So it's a factory fault in this basket case.
Adrift · 61-69, F
