In what way are you still a kid at heart?

I really love children's books. I'll occasionally take out a few at the library. I used to love pretending I lived in the big , beautiful , colored stories..I felt joy and safety. Two things not in my childhood home.

I also love chocolate chip pancakes and I have zero shame sometimes making or ordering them .🙂

@exchrist I think we all still contain the child inside in some element. Maybe you just haven't felt it recently.

@Coralmist idk ive been through a lot. Ill spare you the trauma at birth portion but its always been one injury to the next for me. Stepped on a pencil (it shatterred) into my right foot at 5. Broke my left ankle at 7. Broke my right wrist at 9. Had a brain injury at 13 still cannot use my left hand\arm. dislocated my left hip at 17 . . At 19 my right . . . At 23 my left. . . At 27 my right shin shattered going up a entrance step(the board was rottrd and i simply stepped through it). 31 a wooden floor board snapped going down a staircase. my left leg went through rotten stair injured the knee. at 31 my right. . . at 33 had a brain tumor identified removed at late 34. Now im 35 and blew out my back a few days ago. Seems ive done this a few times now.

@exchrist I'm so sorry for those injuries 🥺 you are truly a survivor to say the least🌺

I didn't have many physical injuries but I had constant severe ridicule and domestic violence around the clock, for two decades growing up .a hellish environment. But I think in those traumas, the child inside that never got to BE a child, carefree etc. was hiding in me. I now like acting silly and I went into teaching years ago to help kids, as I felt somewhere inside my inner child couldn't exist in me. Now I embrace that curious or light child demeanor sometimes... perhaps yours also got trapped inside and you just have to give them permission to be who you weren't able to years ago.

@Coralmist i have to physically heal to be able to do that properly. At this time im getting near to that. Regardless yes i hope to foster my inner child upon regaining my ability to ambulate painlessly. I think my arm will regain use soon too.then ill be a "kid" again.
