The issue isn't with the parents that do it right it's the one's that do it wrong and there isn't anything that can be done about it to help those kids.
@Bonby you call yourself an xtian but belong to perverted groups, INCLUDING THIS proves your kids were most likely victimized...

@NativePortlander1970 so what o choose to do in the privacy of my bedroom you call me and others sickos and to call me put as you say.well it's always been there for anyone to see so you've called out nothing.ypu don't have to agree with or like what I do ,I'm sure there are things you do and think that I don't like and wouldn't do ,like this so call calling people out garbage.and I don't despise you for it or call you out for your poor ways.but what's funny is you try to discredit what I said about homeschooling.which has nothing to do with homeschooling.if you don't want to homeschool ,don't! I really don't care. But the question was asked and I gave my thoughts opinions and experience on the subject period of people don't agree or whatever that's fine and I won't call them a sicko because we may disagree. And jfyi your way isn't the one and only right way sorry

Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
It is important to protect them from today's filthy atmosphere and things which are considered normal (but in reality are totally unacceptable). However, proper school and a good education curriculum is equally important.
Children do need to learn and understand.
I do support schooling outside the house, the way I attended but totally oppose what's going on out there.
Bonby · 61-69, M
@Donotfolowme like what things? I'm sure you will find it in both public ,private ,and homeschool
I agree with everything you said, along with the addition that the Bible says also that they need to be raised in a home where Christ comes first and matters, and they are taught the way they should go in the Lord. It says to not forbid children from knowing or coming to faith in the Lord. For such is the Kingdom of heaven. If they lack this, they'll be more likely to be promiscuous anyway.
SlapHappy · 36-40, M
Sure that could be a positive, if a parent is well trained or has the resources to do so. But a kid misses out on sports & extracurriculars as well as learning to socialize with others & navigate the world. Their world view is somewhat stunted, even if parents are well meaning, by having mainly just their parents' viewpoints. Seems selfish & overprotective of the parents.

@emiliya The way American homeschool parents and associations talk, they claim homeschooling only happens in America.
Bonby · 61-69, M
@SlapHappy you are so wrong my kids .issues out on. Nothing! Not sports not friends not socializing
Bonby · 61-69, M
Well my kids were home schooled both went to a good college and both have no problem at all socializing,I wish I was as good as they are at it. And work ethic like none other ,very well paying jobs no drugs, alcohol both married to fine ladies.no regrets
Cigarguy · M
@Bonby she asked if you were scared after she posted your list of forums you avoiding answering her about them
Bonby · 61-69, M
@Cigarguy and I replied that I made a mistake and responded to myself and she could read it there
Bonby · 61-69, M
Somehow you all seem to think you and only your ways are the right ways and everyone else is a sicko and all I can do is laugh at that
Bonby · 61-69, M
Parents think it is overwhelming to teach their kids, that they are not qualified, how wrong they are!! There are plenty of helpful information out there to help.
exchrist · 31-35
Life is expensive to afford to feed clothe house & raise a child and children both parents need to have income. Homeschooling means fewer resources bc one parent must be supervising the child or children at all times. Thats why public schooling and child care extist.
eMortal · M
Nah! I've never seen a home schooled kid who didn't turn into a psycho. As adult, they have significant difficulties socializing than the average person.
Bonby · 61-69, M
@eMortal none of the hundreds I knew in fact they socially are better by far socially
Pisciatto1 · 26-30, M
That is true

Children who are locked up in a basement are also less likely to become promiscuous . .

Is that really the best argument you can find for homeschooling?

What of the millions of children who do not have loving and stable homes? Should they "internalize what their mother and father teach them" and perpetuate a cycle of violence, ignorance and hopelessness? Or do we just ignore them?
emiliya · 22-25, F
@SunshineGirl “Children who are locked up in a basement are also less likely to become promiscuous . .”

You know this is not a sensible thing to say.

“What of the millions of children who do not have loving and stable homes? Should they "internalize what their mother and father teach them" and perpetuate a cycle of violence, ignorance and hopelessness? Or do we just ignore them?”

These are children who attend school. They walk into a school building and are taught by men and women who are not their parents, surrounded by peers who are bad for them. The parents send them to school to be cared for by the state. Teachers are overqualified nannies and schools are centers for the state to mould the children, not the child. The collective nature of schooling necessitates the education be superficial and subpar. They want conformity. To not conform is to be insane. But to be insane is to possess a spark, a flame that ignites and cannot be put out. They do not want anyone to light up the room. They are afraid their fire will spread.

It's called irony . . a literary technique to highlight the ridiculous title of your original post. I learned it at school.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@SunshineGirl It was hidden behind a veil of irony. It is a silly remark that has no bearing on homeschooling.

The title cannot be ridiculous when it is true. Children who are schooled at home are less likely to become promiscuous. Do you want a promiscuous child?
SlapHappy · 36-40, M
Some parents are qualified & others aren't. Some can afford the proper assistance with teaching & books etc & others have no clue
@SlapHappy It's not a matter of qualification or not, it's a matter of what they're really being taught behind closed doors.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
Or have friends
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Being home school can be just as harmful as going to school
BigImo · 26-30, F
Homeschooling should be illegal. What makes random people think they're qualified to teach their kids everything and not let them have friends?
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BigImo I think obesity should be illegal.
@BigImo It's also usually just an excuse for grooming. So much child molesting is done by parents who homeschool.
BigImo · 26-30, F
@emiliya cool. Not a bad idea. Should be seen like any other addiction.
black4white · 56-60, M
And what’s wrong with having some sex?

Stop being a prude and learn that it’s people like yourself that put the “shame” in others eyes of individuals who enjoy sex and sexual activities.
black4white · 56-60, M
@emiliya god and science are the same

WOW …. Noooo science is right the other is not lmao …you are funny
emiliya · 22-25, F
@black4white God designed our bodies. He designed the world and all in it. Things are wired to be good, not bad. When we do bad, the consequences are bad. We cannot change the wiring. There is a natural order and sequence that you cannot break, no matter how much you want to. Sheaths and treatment for sexual diseases are ways to interfere with nature, but they are superficial and do not change nature.

Saint Paul in Galatians 6:7-8 says: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
black4white · 56-60, M
@emiliya yep that’s just dumb and thank you for the input 😁
BillyMack · 46-50, M
So I take it you don’t work?
Bonby · 61-69, M
@BillyMack lol you take it weong
BillyMack · 46-50, M
@Bonby spell check works wonders
Where you home schooled?
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@Nunlover were
@Donotfolowme and this is why home schooling is bad 😂
swirlie · 31-35
I was home-schooled for sex education and look how well-rounded and socially adept I turned out to be! Just ask anyone here at SW if you don't believe me.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@swirlie How is one homeschooled for sex education?
swirlie · 31-35
@emiliya
In the same way that one is high schooled for sex education inside a learning institution which is found within a country where sex education is a priority in that country's education curriculum, which of course is nowhere to be found in western culture.
Less likely to be a mini Greta thumberg…
Promiscuity might be a problem in society, but today's kids are almost completely unable to relate to each other and aren't likely to be capable of actually having sex!
InstructHer · 61-69, M
Probably because the discipline is stricter and more effectively delivered.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
If you don't learn all of those things in school where are you gonna learn them? In an alley in Detroit?
emiliya · 22-25, F
@hunkalove Why do you need to learn them? A man and woman who marry know what they need to do. How do you think humanity coped prior to the schools we have become accustomed to?

In ancient times, schooling was good. It served a higher purpose. It is now broken.
Children who are homeschooled are less likely to have social skills. Out of the roughly 25 families I know that homeschooled in several states, only one kid didn't have social anxiety outside her peer group. One family of eight kids actually set up their uber religious basement like a school house, school desks, a blackboard, and pull down maps, one part like a school cafeteria with a school like chow line with partitioned rectangular lunch trays and half pint milk cartons with a school cafeteria bench, a set of triplets and two sets of twins, and a single child. Homeschooling does more harm than good.
Bonby · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 yeah I believe you now with all the bs you spew out
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Children who are homeschool don’t develop the social skills necessary to attract enough mates to be promiscuous 🤷‍♂
emiliya · 22-25, F
@Zaphod42 Good.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@Zaphod42 You do realize that children see the same faces at school every day? There is no reason you cannot take them out when you are their parent and teacher. They could go out more often, and see more faces.
Bonby · 61-69, M
@emiliya yes but they want to find fault with homeschooling and will grasp at anything. Kids still have neighbors and parks and church and YMCA,and boys scouts, girl scouts. Soccer teams baseball teams and on and on it goes for all the socializing they are ever going to need. My boys were homeschooled both are better at socializing then me who went to public schools. Both are better educated then I am.both have way better paying jobs then I and I don't do to bad. Both went to good colleges.

Home schooling bears no relevance to one's potential for promiscuity. The two subjects are not even closely related. Next question please.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
It's a problem

Unrelated.
