Children who are homeschooled are less likely to become promiscuous.

Why don't more parents provide schooling for their children at home? They surrender their children to indifferent teachers, destructive peers, and media that is harmful to the child. It is less to do with the wealth of the parents and more to do with their morals and the closeness the child shares with the mother and father. The child has to internalize what their mother and father teach them, and not adopt the personalities or traits of their peers and those they see in the media. They need to be raised in loving and stable homes where the parents are committed to the proper growth of the child and able to build a solid foundation, ensuring they are of sound moral character.

Sure that could be a positive, if a parent is well trained or has the resources to do so. But a kid misses out on sports & extracurriculars as well as learning to socialize with others & navigate the world. Their world view is somewhat stunted, even if parents are well meaning, by having mainly just their parents' viewpoints. Seems selfish & overprotective of the parents.
@SlapHappy Exactly, don't forget uber religious indoctrination as well, not to mention many others homeschool to hide their other abuses too, sexual being the top violation of the quiverfull movement the Duggars belonged to...

@SlapHappy Why would they miss out on sports? I love playing sports.

Why does a child need to go to school to play sports? Why does a child need to go to school to engage in extracurricular activities? You are very confined to your box. What is wrong with you people?

@SlapHappy The implication seems to be that you sit at home with your children and do nothing. It is not the job of the state to make our children active. It is our job.

@emiliya well your profile says Russia so I'm not sure what makes you an expert on American culture & norms
@emiliya Sports are just as much socializing as they are competitive exercise, plus if they're good enough sports scholarships have helped many kids get into college.

@SlapHappy Do you have an answer? What does my profile or my nationality have to do with what I have asked you? Answer the question.
@SlapHappy Just another foreigner that thinks they have a right to opinionate on American politics and culture.
@emiliya You actually have exactly ZERO rights to ask such a question.

@emiliya They would only have limited choices & IF the parents are so willing to build a wall around their kids to homeschool them then they likely won't want them off playing on sports teams they can't regulate.
@emiliya Because you live in a foreign country and have ZERO reasons to be obsessed with American culture or politics, you have YOUR OWN issues to deal with, STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE!!!!!

@NativePortlander1970 Are you not aware that homeschooling happens in other countries? It happens in Russia.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@NativePortlander1970 What are you talking about? What does this have to do with you? What does it have to do with America? There are children who live outside America. Many of them.

@emiliya The way American homeschool parents and associations talk, they claim homeschooling only happens in America.
