I’d say three out of four of my grandparents did: Maurice (pronounced like Marr Iss), Eva, Francis, and then my mom’s dad was named John. Although my cousin named his daughter Eva after my grandmother, so maybe that one’s coming back? Idk.

On the other hand, I had an Aunt Sadie. I have not met many Sadies lately, but yesterday there was a high school student named Sadie working as a cashier at the grocery store. I talked with her about her name. She was named after a great-grandmother.

My oldest grandparents would both be 106, my grandma was called Irene and grandfather would be called Sid or Sydney. Not sure of the correct long name spelling.

The name, Hubert reminds me of something my mom told me. When she was in school she knew a pair of Downs Syndrome twins named Hub and Hub. One of them rhymed with cube and the other one rhymed with cub, but they were both spelled the same way.
