Did your grandparents have names you don't hear much anymore?

Like Clarence, Hubert or Marmaduke for the men and Phyllis, Edna or Blanche for the women?

I’d say three out of four of my grandparents did: Maurice (pronounced like Marr Iss), Eva, Francis, and then my mom’s dad was named John. Although my cousin named his daughter Eva after my grandmother, so maybe that one’s coming back? Idk.

My mother has a name that I think has always been rare: Lera.
@Theyitis

Was Eva pronounced as Ava or EEva?
First time I've heard of Lera :D

@rinkydinkydoink Neither, it’s pronounced with a short E sound, like in egg.
@Theyitis

Sorry to extend this but do you mean like this - - eh-vuh?

@rinkydinkydoink No problem, and yes, that’s correct.
