What have you learned from SW?

The mind is a beautiful yet complex thing.

Basically, we're all crazy.

Nothing that I ever wanted to know.

What have I learned ?
Well i guess that every member struggles with something.

The answer to any question might be glaringly obvious and easy to relay.
But a real fear of confrontation either with someone in some kind of authority over you or confronting your own behaviour yourself doesn't make that struggle any easier for the poster of the question.

I've learned that some are deeply entrenched in what they see as their unquestionable belief as truth....even if when questioned after their blanket statement, it doesn't stand up well to scrutiny.
And boy do they get sore if you point [i]that[/i] out !
I've learned that the difference between a like; a love; a hate and an obsession isn't as wide a gap as first view suggests.

I've seen and heard some seriously gifted people whether their gift is writing or drawing or painting or cooking or photography or music or a hundred other things.
You're a talented bunch !

Well i learned all about people and sex...good, bad and ugly. it was a real eye opener for me.

The world isn’t that good.

That for everything you can imagine and beyond, there's someone for whom that's a fetish.

I never had very good social skills, so I've sort of practised how to talk with people on SW. Little things like it's often not worth it to try to make my point, and sometimes it's better to change the focus of a conversation and say something to appease the other person. I guess it's a lot about using empathy when talking with others.

I have definitely learned what trolls are. ☹️

That there are tons of people who share the same beliefs I do, but clearly they are not available on mainstream normie sites like Reddit.

I appreciate that alternative political opinions are tolerated and explored here, most places either throttle/suppress/ban you for going outside of MSM accepted political narratives.

Some very disturbing people with mental illness,

Ive learned some nuanced social skills. People in real life don't react as loudly as people online do. Here people will let you know when your sentence construction doesn't come across as well as you thought it would.

That very few meaningful connections can be made here. Only one friend I have gathered here. The rest are from EP. The majority of people here are not friend material. Many are younger and have mental illnesses. Too many to count. Or need lots of advice. Ask gor it. Do not listen. Rest of those my age or younger? Perverts. Or into seeking validation here. By showing parts of their bodies. By arguing online. By being mean. Or, again, being no friend material.

Keep my EP inner circle. Spend less time here. Focus on being happy here. Give some advice. This site is deteriorating.

You know what I have learned? That I am grateful for having a normal offline life. Its made me appreciate my family so much more.

There are good people in the world, and there are people with similar personalities/interests, even if they are way harder to find.
