School wasn't my happy place let's say...

Looking back, I hated middle school. It was a painfully awkward few years. Highschool was great
I loved school. I would gladly still be in it. You need quiet. Treat yourself quietly. Good luck.

@PoetryNEmotion I liked school too!

I both loved and loathed my school.

I loved the learning, the high academic standards and ambitions, the opportunity and encouragement to work hard and achieve - not that I needed much encouragement.

I loathed the lack of privacy, the uniformity of communal living, the petty rules necessary to maintain order in a tight-knit community.

I loathed school, but it was because of the teachers and my fellow students, not because I disliked learning. I aced every test and would read my textbooks in a single week, that's how much into the education I was. I just hated the people around me.

@DearAmbellina2113 Not unlike my experience, though, to be fair, I didn't hate most of the staff or fellow pupils.

I poured buckets of water in the street when I saw a news thing where schools closed because of frozen roads.

I didn't understand school, I didn't really picture what I would be doing as an adult. It was a small rural school that had subpar subjects. The bullying from the kids was atrocious. The abuse from the some of the teachers was rampant. I often wag a class or the day. Yet somehow I qualified for University at Year 10. But it was at the very end of admissions and the only subject left was Registered Nursing. Which I didn't care for. But 5 years later I became a Enrolled Nurse anyway.

Elementary school was fine. Middle and high school was survival only

Being a foster kid made school hell , i attended at least 10 or 12 different schools actually probaly more . Typical first day teacher introduces me as the foster child of so and so and it went down hill from there.

I loved school. There were parts of it that weren't great, but that mostly involved nasty kids. Once I got into high school I was in my element!

I was forced to work up to 11:00 PM everyday after school, school was my escape.

School is nothing compared to what I had to face outside.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I loved the learning and the friendships I made.

Hated being away from home and always having to be on my guard for bullies.

I hated it enough to go into a state of survival. I went to a rich preppy school where everyone thinks they are the center of the universe and teachers put unrealistic expectations on everyone and tell you you're a failure if you don't exceed those expectations. Most people got 3-4 hours of sleep a night, myself included, because of just how much homework was given and how difficult the coursework was. Getting a 4.0 at most schools means you're at the top; at mine, it meant that you were average. If you got a 2.9, you didn't go to college. Clubs were not about having fun; they were about winning or making history. I am still trying to recover from that toxic environment three years after graduating.

How did they know where you'd been ?
If people know your business some are going to exploit it.
If only to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Other than that...who cares ?
If you're ill you have to do what's best for you.
Even they understand that.
I hated it but unfortunately there was nothing I could do about it . My parents made sure I was up and early
Matt85 · 36-40, M
They shouldn't do that, I mean have some damn respect.

I didn't do well in school because I was bad at communicating.

i hated all school expect maybe my last year of highschool.

as one of my old teachers in highschool retired & was replaced by a cute 24 year old.
Raaii · 22-25, F
I hated the school because of the biased teachers who made m life a hell and the environment was not so good but I liked to study as it's the only thing I thought can change my life
And yes the school really killed all my passions
The system just made me a mugging machine
I should have joined another better school but I had no way
Now just accepting
LaylaTheTallGirl · 22-25, F
Elementary school was alright. Middle school was the worst. Bullied, tripped and most girls hated me for being the tall and thin girl. High school wasn’t all great.
Thefreckledgirl1 · 18-21, F
@LaylaTheTallGirl same i got pushed down the stairs in middle school
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
I had perfect attendance throughout both grade school and junior high!
could not wait to leave but found the real world is not much better
Strongtea · 22-25, M
I actually really liked school, I decided that I may like to work in one so did work experience there and it was horrible.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
I used to fake being sick all the time to stay home. I fucking hated school.
I went to 8 years of Catholic private school which sucked. and 4 years of public high school which was fine.... I didn't hate it
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Oh lord I HATED middle school and high school with the passion of a thousand suns.

It totally sucks.

Know that it gets better, and all the losers who bullied you don't amount to much.
NerdySoph · 26-30, F
Ugh school, always with those nasty people. Hang in there.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
I was bored most of the time. They needed a faster pace. Other than that it was okay.
