Maybe he correctly figured that you wouldn't show up. Maybe he arrived and waited. Maybe this isn't one of such experiences. Maybe.....
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Never. All my girlfriends treated me well concerning that. ☺
Waldorf · 80-89, M
Looks to me like you stood yourself up?
exexec · 70-79, C
Never, but my wife and I started dating when we were 15 and there were very few other opportunities for anybody to stand me up.
Zachanr · 26-30, M
I've been stood up once. We talked heavily up to the hour leading to the meet. I got to the place, texted a few times and waited maybe 30minutes? Then i went home.
Never figured out why it happened but turned me off of dating for a little bit. I really hate the ghosting that is common now a days. I'd rather someone be blunt.

@Zachanr so weird.. why would they do that
Zachanr · 26-30, M
@MaybeTomorrow No idea. We'd been talking for a while too which is annoying.

I’ve been stood up before. I think at the very least the person owes you to present themselves and say that they have to leave so you aren’t waiting for them.

🤗. To console myself I've had a shot of whiskey - whiskey with warm water and honey and cinnamon powder 😆

@solitaire Wonderful! If you don’t treat yourself nobody else will!!
I've never been stood up. I did kind of stand one girl up. Head cheerleader. We worked together one summer at the local swimming pool. I was a lifeguard, she collected passes.
She was a year older than I, but our birthdays were on the same day in October. So I asked her out on 'our' birthday. She giggled in a shy, friendly way, but didn't answer. So I kept at it. I asked her again maybe 3 or 4 more times over the summer until she finally said yes.
Then I got to thinking that she probably just said it to get me off her back. So I never called her to make arrangements or persued it again.
🤷 Does that qualify as a "stand up"? I still feel a trifle bad to this day, 50 years later.

Only by friends, not by a potential dating partner.

Yeah in my 30s. Oddly enough it was by someone well known to me. He went out with his friends that night and was supposed to meet with me for a drink but I guess he was having too much fun or something. He was a potential dating partner but obv never got that far.

Yes it had happened few times with me. It’s part of life. Some people don’t care.
It’s always nice to let other person know if you can’t make it.

@Frostcloud Haha - to me if a friend forgets a plan then I personally feel I was not as important to them as I thought I was. This has happened to me
Frostcloud · F
@solitaire yeah, i didnt mind at first because she was going through a hard time, but after a few weeks it felt a little hurtful

Once at a good concert with Joe Walsh and Stevie Nicks. At least Joe was good! 1983

JestAJester · 31-35, M

Maybe you stood him up, he wasn't responding because he was traveling to the meetup with you?
PriyaB · 26-30
Why do you want to meet people? Just take care your husband and kids out for dinner
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Are you sure he stood you up or maybe his phone died?
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
Never had date 😬 just single
HumanEarth · F
No, never
MaybeTomorrow · F
That sounds so frustrating. Glad you didn’t go to the place you were supposed to meet at. He sounds like a waste of time.
solitaire · 41-45, F
@MaybeTomorrow Now I can confirm I got stood up. Late night he messages me and tells me he got held up with work. When I told him he could have informed me that he cannot me, he says his battery was only 12% 🙄 and that's the reason he did not inform
MaybeTomorrow · F
@solitaire 12 percent is still a lot. A message to you wouldn’t have cost him those 12 percent 🙁
solitaire · 41-45, F
@MaybeTomorrow Yep.

If you think getting stood up is bad imagine getting sent to a random house after sunset by a catfish

No but I have had numbers I'll pass out before not get called I think everybody has but it just tells me that they weren't the one I was looking for not a big deal. That's why from now on I do s*** the smart way if it doesn't come to me it wasn't meant to be and I just flipped the page
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Luckily not in my case, but I will be getting back on dating apps soon.
