Which profession is going to get wiped out in the next 5-10 years?

Customer service representative. I've already noticed that AI bots have taken over phone answering services, and they are doing the worst possible job.

For example, my new credit card allows me to check my balance, but there is no address associated with the phone number. All I am able to do is check my balance, and I have never received a statement!!!

I wouldnt say professions but probably all the low income jobs like cashier and janitor. The people struggling will get hit first and the economy will crash from lack of consumers.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@GuyWithOpinions with fear of diseases spreading on surfaces I highly doubt that janitors will be eliminated from the workforce. They are vital for sanitation and keeping public areas clean.

Probably you
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@HumbleGuy yeah at the rate it’s going with these criminals and the testimonies. People are getting fed up with Hollywood and everything connected to it.

Cashier, Drivers, anything customer related.

@Iwillwait
however in grocery/big box stores, soon you will not. Same with the warehouse jobs, robotics will be picking/ filling orders for logistics with minimal human interaction.

Almost all of that is already the case! None of that is a future event, that is what's happening almost everywhere.

What part of what you've described as quoted above will not be here in 5 - 10 years then?
Iwillwait · M
@SandWitch wait for it.... The question was "Wiped out, " and the future will hold that reality for you.
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@Iwillwait
That was my point... what you described as being wiped out in 5 - 10 years is already in the state that you've describe those professions to be moving toward, but as I pointed out, they are already 'today' where YOU think they will go in 10 years from now.

All of them! After the A.I takes over we'll become their house cats, and hopefully live happily ever after.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
All of them.
Any and everything AI can replace, so probably a lot of graphics design and/or animation jobs and roles, as AI is picking that kind of thing up extremely fast.

Also professional advice services.

A lot of industries such as Banking, Finance, Money Lending etc. Wiping out Auditors, accountants, bankers, cashiers, Lenders etc.
Presidential fact checker.
Madmonk · M
Architects, engineers receptionist, call centers some doctors. Basically everybody who doesn’t actually physically produce something. This will usher in universal basic income.
Public Relations, hopefully.
SUPERVlXEN · F
Any, if using current US standards

@Moneyonmymind I was thinking most of the official spokespeople. Because they tend to lie their butts off to the media. They hired one for the university and that’s what they were doing when I worked there. Some of those lies were about things we knew about and we were told that we would lose our jobs if we ever went to the media about anything without the spokesperson with us (they would have to give permission.) People are fed up with this and want transparency.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@cherokeepatti more transparency would definitely benefit everyone these days
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Madmonk yes they are mostly a pain to deal with
Many white collar jobs will be eliminated by AI.
@JonLosAngeles66 The auctions are just a normal standards business practice. I don't think I should have to prove that, because that's smart business by them... and it can be standard in certain medical situations.

On certain ideas, a lot of hospitals in certain areas would have to compete and/or bid on certain items.

The wrong part is that they pretend they're mainly about helping people, when really they're about making their top employees more money.
@sstronaut I don't agree.
@JonLosAngeles66 I don't ask anyone to agree nor disagree 🤷
