Jesus said, "only those who do the will of my father will enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matt. 7:21). Will you answer the calling?

Do you know that every waking moment of your life, you are being tested? Every decision you make will determine whether or not you will make into heaven. There are some who believe everyone will go to heaven- absolutely false. The truth is: just as hell is reserved for those who do evil things, heaven is reserved for those who do good. Also, it's not about the magnitude of the act. Jesus said in Matt. 10:42 -

"If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Think about what you can do for a child or a homeless person, or even the elderly. Christmas is coming up and I'm sure there are some less fortunate children out there you can do something nice for. If you have the financial means, please do what you can to help someone out. Christ commanded us to be charitable (Matt. 19:21).

I'm a blasphemious queer Atheist who is not afraid to sin but at the same time I help my friends, homeless people and others who need help and I try to be a good person according to my moral frame.
Where will I end up? 😌

@RocktheHouse No thanks I have no need for a god but I do think It's good that you don't make your own judgments like other Christians.

@SW-User If you never believe Jesus and never accept the gift of His Atonement for your transgressions then you will be going to the eternal lake of fire..

@RocktheHouse
Ask God to reveal himself to you.
I did, she/he/it didn't.
You don’t have to be a Christian to do good things for people. That is not why we should do good things. If the only reason one does good things is the fear of not getting into heaven, then you have to question how good one is on the first place.
@RocktheHouse well that escalated fast.

@RocktheHouse I can't believe it. I absolutely agree except with the statement that we are on the verge of extinction. The problem we currently face is an overpopulation and yes Capitalism is a terrible system very good analysis. I'd rather have a decentraliced secular Anarchist society though
@SW-User Anarchy is biblical. Before there were kings and centralized governments, people lived communally and worked with each other to make life better for everyone. If someone wanted to leave that community/tribe, they were free to go. No one forced anyone. The God of the bible doesn't like governments, rulers, or kings.

1 Samuel 8:18

18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”
I was not aware that every moment of my waking life I was being tested by my Lord. He Seems much sweeter than this, less harsh.
I was not aware that every decision I make would determine if Im going to heaven or not. Should I have the toast and bananas or the monte Cristo sandwich when I go out later. Which one will get me into heaven?

I do agree that not everyone will go to heaven. Some people just plain don’t want to. Many have no idea who Jesus is and sees God as a tyrant rather than a loving, generous father.

You can’t get into heaven when the most important person in your life is yourself.

The less fortunate should be considered and thought about all year long. Christmas is a shoddy excuse to do good and tell everyone about it while one pats themselves on the back. that pat on your back will be your reward. Besides, anyone can do good things. Thats not what ‘gets you into heaven’. You need to find the Will of the father and live that.

So what is the Will of the father, what does God ask of us? It sounds like a simple enough question, but when you ask there are so many varied answers. The will of God is often used as a scapegoat of those who consider themselves above everyone else in the church, because, how do you argue with that? There is a pride that can sneak into a christians life that will kill all the good he believes he is doing by seeking his own glory.

There are , of course, requirements. To be just, to be merciful and to walk with god in humility. We are asked over and over again to follow the commandments of the Lord. To seek him continuously. Our relationship with God is not merely obedience, it’s a relationship. The church, those who do the will of the Lord, is his bride. What does a good, perfect, Holy Man want of his bride? That is who you should be.

Eternity with God is reserved for those who are forgiven...

Eternity in the lake of fire is reserved for those who are unforgiven...

And yes caring and helping children and the homeless does earn one rewards in eternity.. But caring for Children and the homeless does not buy one a ticket into eternity with God..

What's the meaning of The Kingdom in Bible context.

The scripture above leads me to believe there's a difference between "The Kingdom and "Heaven" as it says we're already in the Kingdom though the blood of Jesus.
@karysma Right, there's "The Kingdom" and then there's "The Kingdom of Heaven," Or "The Kingdom of God." There are kingdoms on earth - Matthew 4:8 . We are in the Kingdom of Jesus - his Church. Although our earthly bodies are here, our spiritual bodies are destined to reign with Christ. The bible doesn't go into much detail about the afterlife, but we do know there is another realm that we will ascend to after death.

@RocktheHouse Through the sacrifice of the lamb the authority was restored back to man therefore we have dominion on this Earth Luke 10:19. To answer your question I agree that not everyone will attend the wedding feast. The parable of the 10 virgins clearly states that.

I agree we should do good, but good works won't get us into heaven, salvation is a gift which has to be accepted.
@TheWildEcho That's it!
Adstar · 56-60, M
@TheWildEcho (1 John 3:22-24) "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. {23} And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. {24} And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."

How do you explain Revelation 22:15 (CEV) = "15 But outside the city will be dogs, witches, immoral people, murderers, idol worshipers, and everyone who loves to tell lies and do wrong."

How the F#ck is Matt?
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Thevy29 Matt = Matthew.. that being the Gospel of Matthew.. The first gospel..

My moral framework is to do enough good so as to try to leave the world a little better off than how I entered it. I do not believe in a god, and my afterlife are the ripples of my actions echoing through the world after my departure. I want those ripples to do good even though I'll not be around to know it.

If there is a god and that isn't good enough for them, then they aren't worth my worship anyways. 🤷‍♂️

@RocktheHouse I wouldn't know, it would seem that way since not all of the dead sea scrolls made it into the,"New Testament".
js
@Bang5luts Not all of the manuscripts that were written by scribes or religious teachers of that time made it. Many are hidden in the secret rooms of the Vatican. Some were destroyed. The NT of the bible was canonized with only the books that were considered scriptural, i.e., letters from the apostles and the gospels that were recorded by historians of the first century.
Bang5luts · M
@RocktheHouse and other books which could have been considered scripture like, "The Book of Judus" or "The Gospel of Judas". Was sold to a private (unnamed) collector.

@RocktheHouse God sent the bears, according to the Bible.
@CorvusBlackthorne That's not how I read it:

2 Kings 2:24 Then he turned around, looked at them, and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Suddenly two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.…

It wasn't God who cursed the boys. It was Elisha.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
@RocktheHouse He cursed them in the name of your god, Yahweh. You cannot imagine God would allow the curse to succeed if he did not approve.

@Pikachu Why do you have to take things to the extremities? Of course not... when I say every decision, I mean every moral decision.
@RocktheHouse
