I Have Plantar Fasciitis

Ever have Plantar Fascitis in your foot. I’ve had mine since mid December. It’s extremely painful to walk. I’ve seen doing everything the Podiatrist has told me and it’s still not any better. Any suggestions?

Stretch your foot before you get out of bed or get up after being off it for any period of time. You need to stretch and warm up the tendons. When you sleep they tighten up and if you jump up to answer the door or natures call without first warming up by stretching it will tear and you are back to square one.

I was plagued with it and the stretching, particularly when I had been inactive, seemed to work. That and decent shoes and insoles helped me. I have not had a re-occurrence in 5 or more years.

@bowman81 Definately trying that now !! Thanks

@clamenza Its not an overnight cure....wish it was.

@bowman81 I wish it was too.. ughh
Try Grape Seed Extract... rub 12 drops on the bottom of your foot.
Research it at www.EarthLink.com, under "ailments", starting in the "P's" people write what worked for them, and they don't get paid, either. They are not advertising anything. Just testimony of what has worked for them. It doesn't hurt to look. I've used suggestions on there and it really worked well.
Hi, my friend. Try this: take a hard plastic ball (I use a ball hockey one) and roll it back and forth under your foot. A water bottle that is frozen also helps. That is the best thing. I don't know what caused yours. Mine was a combination of competitive soccer and being on my feet for 12 hour shifts. I stopped soccer. Reduced my hours. Elevated them as much as possible. I no longer have plantar fascitis. Orthopedic insoles/shoes help, but are quite expensive. Some work plans cover them.
@clamenza I think the key is to do this frequently during the daylight hours. The stretching of the sole and the foot along with the ice is this solution. It took a few months for me. I still miss the soccer.

@PoetryNEmotion I bet. I miss just walking the dogs. What a pain in the butt😁I ‘m willing to try anything at this point
@clamenza Yes, it isn't fun hobbling around in constant pain.

i have it now. i've had it since October 2016. i've tried cortisone injections, acupuncture, dry needle therapy, massage, physical therapy, nightly ice baths, tape, custom made orthotics. night splints, massage tools, and complete rest. nothing has worked. my last cortisone injection helped and for about 3 months i was completely pain free. i stayed off it for a month and then gradually started jog/walking but then it came back. aside from taking more injections (i've had 4 already) the only thing left is surgery.
@blindbob before you do anything at least try the grape seed extract. 12 drops on the bottom of the foot...as needed.

@LadyGrace Gonna give a try . Anything at this point. Thanks

@LadyGrace thanks, i'll give it a try.
Did they tell you to stand with the balls of your feet on a step (hopefully with a railing to hold onto) and lower your heels as far as you can, hold for fifteen seconds, then raise them as high as you can, lower, lather, rinse, repeat? Until ten sets are completed, or as many as you can stand. Do ten times/day. Helped me a lot.

@Mamapolo2016 I truly hope she didn’t. She’s supposed to be a specialist 😳. Shoe shopping again tomorrow
@clamenza Don’t buy expensive shoes you hope will work...you’ll end up broke and limping. Check out that website I sent, check out what they recommend. It’s a given torn tendons will take longer to repair than inflamed or bruised ones. Make your feet your #1 priority, and soon you may be walking tall and thumbing your nose when you pass podiatrist’s offices.

@Mamapolo2016 I sure will. Thanks for the link

I've never had this problem. I don't envy you. Have you tried cold wraps?

My hub has the same problem, saw a doctor who advised him to buy those foot roller thingys, get specialized sneakers for work and inserts to put into the sneakers. He said it helped. I can't recall the place tho.

Have you gotten better shoes? I have very high arches, and I make sure I have shoes that are good for that.
clamenza · 56-60, M
@Dewkissedrose Sure have . Gotten several new pairs. Plus even gotten arch support implants

Hmmmm....I'm not a professional, but I'll tell you.....
A few years back, I also had plantar fasciitis along with heel spurs.

I went and got fitted for inserts, but I never used them, not even once.
What I did do was to start taking Apple cider vinegar (organic, and with the 'mother') each day.

I'm not saying it's what cures me, but I promise you, both afflictions are gone.
And they were remarkably unnoticeable within a few months.

So you may want to give that a shot?
😊

What causes this?
clamenza · 56-60, M
@Fluffybull It’s inflammation of the tendon in the arch of your foot that connects to the heel. I hurt mine hunting all weekend back in Dec. A lot of runners get it as well
@clamenza Yes, causes bone spurs and lots of inflammation.
