Why on earth do people follow you if they didnt plan to chat with you?

@annamarie65 I love games, especially Snap, Ludo and Backgammon. No other types of games count in my book.

@JoBlak i love games as well...but i get many strangers adding me so that they can better their online gaming, without ever talking to me etc...

@annamarie65: You can always unfollow someone. My memory isn't what it once was - If I don't talk to them right away, or follow them, I'll never remember who they were...

you cant take someone off your list that add you, you can only remove people you add...i mean you an block them....

@Kimmler You have some internal issues. We're just talking. Its NOT a marriage proposal. I suggest for you to clean up your attitude. Or no one is goanna wana deal with you. Which explain why you're so bitter and quick tempered.
Go workout, read a book, do some research. Expend your mind.
And try to get laid and eat some fruits and greens.. trust me life will seem sweeter.

@Peaches: Yes. the idea is facilitate a continuity for a conversation shared by many people on a particular subject, or agenda rather than to piecemeal it through a mixture of private and public messages. Private messaging is always between two people.

Well, the two aren't "friends" until each adds the other. So if someone posts a question or story that trips my switch, following them simply increases the chances of seeing more of what they have to say. It's kind of like following an author or musician. I don't think I ever sent an author or musician any fan mail or sought them out to chat, yet I still may like what they have to say, or sing. Great if they likewise follow me back. Maybe we'll even chat and one day become great friends.

So, if I add 50 people who provide enlightenment or amusement or make what I consider a good contribution here, that means I'll likely find something that's enlightening, amusing or positive when I visit. And that's why I visit. To gain from others' experiences and share my own.

Then I wouldn’t follow them or chat with them. It’s that simple. @annamarie65

@annamarie65: There is indeed no (technical) point in adding someone without any stories or questions. It essentially only gives easier access to someone's posts and therefore implies interest in those, but the feature itself doesn't imply anything else. You may add people out of interest for a chat, but others may add people just for their stories or something else entirely. I can't judge other people's motives when there is no technical advantage, but I'm fairly sure an interest in chatting isn't the only reason for everyone.

@annamarie65: I don't see a point in that. But you say you follow people you want to chat with, despite it not affecting chats in any way. Maybe others have their own reasons to follow people despite it not making any technical difference. Who are we to judge someone's reason to do something that doesn't affect us?

@SW-User i have nothing against someone liking me, if we get to know each other, and y ou cant do that unless there is some kind of conversation ...that is the point i am trying to make...you shouldnt just add/follow someone without chatting with them first...
