Can I reapply for a job position?

I had applied for a job 6 months ago, made it to the last round of the interview process. And then they ghosted me. After asking multiple times for an update they finally said they found someone with more experience and chose the other person. I was heartbroken then. I see now that they are again looking to fill in the same postition. Should I ping their HR again? Or... if I was once rejected, should I assume I am not the candidate they are looking for and move on?

That happened to me 21 years ago and I got the job the 2nd time they posted it. I'm still at that company. 5 years later in the same company I went for another role but was runner up. A year after that they were able to add a 2nd headcount and I got it when I applied again.

So what if you annoy their HR, you're showing strong interest, persistence and commitment. I think if they really don't want you, they'll tell you not to apply again and why.

My company always starts over, they don't hold on to old applications and resumes when they post for the same role.

Call and see if they still have your application on file. Start with hello My name is Jane Doe and i applied for the XYZ position back in March i see that you are once again hiring for that position. I am extremely interested, and go from there. I was a Supervisor over 40 cna's and people used to do it all the time. I just kept all applications on file. So when they reapplied i just updated their info asking do you still reside at that address? Etc...so yes! Most definitely reapply!

Reapply every time.
Make them tell you no.

They are making their best guess as to who they want - and you might be the top candidate on the next go round.

You NEVER know why they chose who they did - could have been internal or could have been a boss's relative - not even related to the qualifications.

Good luck.

Couple of years back I won an art award. I have applied for the 3rd year and my friends were looking at me with disbelief but I went ahead and I won it the 3rd time.
I was also thinking of how the jury must be looking at my portfolio every year and think "ah yeah, that again" .. yet.....:) I did it the 3rd time.

Go ahead, be competent but also, detached.

I think that if they were interested, they would contact you themselves. At least they always promise those kinds of things. 😬 "We'll keep your resume in case some other position opens in future and we might contact you if we find you fitting"
@CrazyMusicLover thats tru too ive been told that before
Absolutely apply again. Interviews are wonky. I’ve interviewed a LOT of people, and I know.

Reapply. If you don't get the job, ask for a visit with HR. Tell them you want to know what you need to do to improve your chances. Let them know you are interested in knowing your weaknesses.

Yes you can apply again. The trick is to know the person hiring or your future boss. Time to get some networking skills.
Some companies specify a time period for reapplication. If they don't, 6 months is enough. Go ahead and apply again if you still want that job.
I guess you can try idk but good luck
