I think it was 1996 or 97. Temperature was around -42 C and it was windy (which is fortunately rare at that kind of temperature. The air is usually too cold to want to move much) Probably around -60C when the wind chill is taken into account.

It was dangerously cold, even though i was fairly well prepared (though i was at work, not dressed for being off in the backcountry) helping people get their cars started to leave work in the evening. Didn’t freeze anything, but it took a long time in a warm bath to stop shivering.

1979 approximately 100 miles north of Cheyenne Wyoming at -50.

I can't say exactly where. Just that it was very remote.

Of course living in Cheyenne I have seen -30 several times.

I'm not sure. Most probably below freezing. The P.E. teacher made me and many others do P.E. in our shorts and T shirt because we forgot our joggers and jumpers. And that was fine apparently. No wonder I have Social Anxiety.

I was in Moscow once with my students on an exchange trip, and it was around 20 degrees below zero F, so cold you just could not be outside very long...even the Russians!!!

Something well-below freezing in the huge "refrigerator" at the U.S. Antarctica base on the Southern Island of New Zealand, at which those we are sending to Antarctica train. And, no, I was not getting ready to go. But they do allow tourists to briefly walk through when it is not in use for training.

If I compare my experience with the others, it's basically summer.

10°C.
Years ago, when my late husband and I visited some of his family in Sault Ste Marie (MI) I remember seeing the reading of -14F…😳🥶

Coldest temp I've ever experienced was -54*C / -65*F in the month of January at a place called 'Mooseonee, Ontario Canada and which was ambient air temp with no windchill factor.

This little town of Mooseonee is near the southern tip of James Bay which almost everyone in the world has heard of before. For those who haven't heard of James Bay, by Canadian standards James Bay is a small fresh water bay about the size of Texas that is situated south of Hudson Bay.

Hudson Bay is a body of fresh water that's a wee bit bigger than James Bay who's geographic area would cover about the size of the eastern seaboard of the USA from Boston to Key West and inland from the US east coast to about as far as the State of Kentucky. James Bay forms the southern extremity of Hudson Bay.

Mooseonee is inaccessible by car and is only accessible by air or by railway and lies about 800 miles (1300 km) straight north of Buffalo NY for my American friends who are able to find Canada on a world map. 🇨🇦

New York, one February. Bloody hell that was cold. Spent a fortune on hot chocolate to get out of the weather.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@Oneofthestormboys I’ll take the cold in the city versus a really hot summer day. When it’s hot, the city can feel like a brick oven, especially in crowded subway. That’s the worst part.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
4° is the last temp I remember from when I lived in Tennessee
deadmoon · 31-35, F
-60 with the windchill. Absolutely fucking brutal. Would bleed profusely from the nose like I just did a few lines under those temps.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
-40 C or F, they are both the same. That was without the wind chill factor.
I'm not sure, probably in the teens, I don't think I've ever experienced a single digit temperature (Fahrenheit), and certainly not a negative one
