speaking as an atheist, I'd find it hard to take someone seriously in a relationship who still believes in the man in the moon.

@Coyotedave611 Heheheh! 😉

@Allelse I think that is how most atheist think about Christians. That deep down they believe that we (Christians) might as well be praying to the man on the moon.
I cannot see a relationship lasting very long.

A friendship, but not a romantic relationship, since I wouldn't be able to pray with him or share the most precious part of my life with him.

@purplepen You make a very valid point here, since I love to share the wonderful and wise Hitchens and Dawson. People I cherish I wouldn't be able to share.

I don't think they'll accept me constantly using that against them lol, although the good thing about christians, it's a good stereotype so shouldn't be wrong to say this, but they always seem nicer than others, or more understanding, like you'll think oh yeah of course ur christian cos they'll always try to reach out to you and turn u to the lord lol, not sure if it's because of their image or their core, but their just pleasant humans

@wakanda4eva I do appreciate that many Christians try and do what they can, especially the homeless people living on the streets, a horrific situation especially in Los Angeles Ca. More of us atheist need to lead by example as so many churches do.
OKWTF2 · 51-55, M
Friendships certainly. In general when you are in a more intimate relationship it is often best to have the same faith or no faith. It is one thing to discuss politics with someone, but things that are truly important and require faith just isn't something that can be ignored nor overcome when it is with someone you share your bed with.

Yes, my last love was a satanist... I had relationships with other christianists...they sucked and fell apart, one atheist agnostic didn't work out either, even though I did love him.

Well you’d have started the relationship despite each others religious differences. So it’s just a question of toleration. Like every other relationship, it means adaptation to each other’s quirks and foibles.

@Longpatrol I couldn't have put this better, great answer!

I had a 3 year relationship with an Atheist. I got up on Sunday for church and he stayed in bed. He would go on holy holidays but I knew it meant nothing to him. I didn't try to change him and he didn't try to change me.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
Probably not from what I understand about atheist.
Memyself20 · 41-45, F
I could

@Memyself20 Good for you!

@Coyotedave611 Christians are suppose to love all from all faiths so why not love all from un-faiths
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
I'm agnostic and my GF is christian. Our only issue is that she's upset that she's starting to understand my issue with the bible's plot holes 😂
I've heard of it happening - but I don't think it's very common.

I did. We had some fun arguments hehe

Let the debate begin.

Same, but reverse. lol

That’s called being “unevenly yoked” if I remember the teachings. And the only reason they should consider a relationship with you would be to bring you into the “flock”. So they would be obliged by their faith to try and change your lack of belief. 😉
Coyotedave611 · M
@bijouxbroussard I'm just grateful I've never been put in that situation, at least not romantically. You make a really good point my friend. Ironically, there was a time I actually led bible studies for youth, fortunately, I came fairly early on to my own unbelief.
