Models are only good for the larger picture. Everyone here is looking at the fine details.

Fine details don't matter.

If rates of change are bigger than zero it's still growing. That's the bigger picture. Whether the rate change is 7 or 8 doesn't matter. It's still 5 times too much. Not a negative rate of change.

Slowing down or speeding up doesn't matter.

The object is to do something now. The now matters the most.

I am not a fortune teller to say anything else. And to do so would be wrong.

It could and has gone up by some. And it has gone down by others.

8.2 billion was predicted for November of last year. By the UN.

@Longpatrol they recently dropped the population control because they are afraid of India which surpassed them in population.

India is the main problem now. Not China.

@DeWayfarer That's true. The'll probably hit 1.7-1.8 billion before their burgeoning middle class reduces the birth rate.

@Longpatrol as long as they hold onto the caste system, the middle class will have no effect. The population boom always was with the poor, that had absolutely no education because of their caste.

It goes hand in hand. No education, no getting out of the untouchable class. They are untouchable.

They can't keep an accurate count of them. No body wants to be around them.
