Population will be in decline by the turn of the century...

Nunki · 31-35, F
The annual growth rate is slowing down as shown by the orange curve, but the population itself is increasing. Look at the blue curve where it says number of people. It is over 10 billion at 2100. Still those are nothing but estimations since they are all about the future considering the current factors. Nothing’s guaranteed.

Your graph also proves the numbers I mentioned on my comment are correct. Just match each billion with the year I mentioned in the last 40 years and you’ll know 😃

@Nunki it's more likely that we'll hit a peak of 9.5B and it might in reality be 8.5B due to the chinese miscount. Throw in a few more pandemics, wars, climare change and natural disasters things are going to changevfaster than modeled.

@Nunki @Tastyfrzz The point is that the growth rate is declining and will likely go negative sometime between 2060 and 2100.

@sarabee1995 yes, but the projections that Africa's population will skyrocket seems impossible.

@sarabee1995 I will only say this

https://www.officetimeline.com/blog/world-population-milestones
This year, world population hit a new milestone in human development as it reached 8 billion people across the Globe.

This milestone was honored by the United Nations declaring November 15, 2022, “

The Day of Eight Billion”.

It now turned to 8.2 billion on January 25th 2025.

I am not a fortune teller to say anything else. And to do so would be wrong.

It could and has gone up by some. And it has gone down by others.

8.2 billion was predicted for November of last year. By the UN.

Yet it could go up faster just as well.

Models can not predict the future.

@sarabee1995 And that is when the problems will really start . . imagine Japan's current demographic imbalance projected on to the whole of Africa.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl Oh for sure. The result is disaster.
