I’ve realized it’s just better to feel nothing than to get caught up in an infatuation. What do you think?

Its ok to be infatuated as long as its rational and respectful not selfishly psychotic
@GoFish Well I think I was respectful

I wish I could but I love passion and infatuation even though most of the time I end up hurt
@XxBlahxX really? Why
MellyMel22 · F
At the moment, I agree.

@MellyMel22 what you said
bookerdana · M
Most love begins with infatuation and nosedives into love
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
As long as its a healthy infatuation there's nothing wrong with it. We are human we like what we like.
@AngelUnforgiven I guess it always has been healthy for me but lead to deeper feelings, and I am more peaceful without that.. Now
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Yes, it's better, peaceful. If it's someone you can't have, that's without a question.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
I think so too, especially when it can't go anywhere.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@MrAverage1965 I think I'm past that now, I'm fed up of being let down.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I hope you haven't been let down recently
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@MrAverage1965 There are other teas.

Depends on your goal in life. For me...........infatuation at least gives one SOMETHING to look forward too...plan on...be excited about. Even if don't pan out........at least you don't sit alone in a room forever alone never having any of the above in your life..
@anythingoes477 I think I had enough of that and now.. It's part of the past. I think I have other priorities.
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@Lovebird The best things relationship-wise seem to come when you're not looking. ;-) Keep an open door in ur heart.
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
It’s a horrible feeling to be let down definitely. It hurts.
It's better to focus on what serves your peace and your goals...everything else will fall into place
@DystopianDivalry that's true
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Definitely. Infatuation is a waste of time.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@Lovebird Good this is what I keep saying. It's about sex and reproduction. Friendship is genuine romantic attachments have a ulterior motive. No one cares how their friends look for instance. It factors in greatly with a lover. Then comes the cheating and the loss of interest over time. The whole thing seems fake somehow.
@Munumbis Yes, such an intense feeling that ends up like that lol. Some even end up hating each other. I agree with you
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@Lovebird We should be researching artificial wombs and AI parents. Eventually we can engineer away human sexuality all together. The universe will be our playground. We had no sex drive as children to hijack our time and energy. We can get that back as adults or an adult version of it.
Ducky · 31-35, F
It depends on what you mean by “nothing.” It can be better, all depending on what you mean.
@Ducky It just means I feel better and more at peace with myself than I do when I have those feelings. Part of short lived experiences.

Nothing happens then 🤗

I let myself imagine but try to keep the feelings under control.
