I Hate When I Cant Sleep

Here we go again. 02:00 in the morning and I am wide awake!

I will be dead tiered tomorrow and a total wreck but I can help it my mind is in a whirl. Why does every problem in the world surface just as I think I can nod off.

Fed up and feeling sorry for myself so I have made myself a cup of tea, I am sitting in my PJ's all alone in the lounge and sprawled out across the sofa with my drink by my side. At this moment in time I wish it were alcoholic but I would be in an even worse state if I started drinking.

Anyone know what I can do to unwind and help me sleep

I know that feeling oh so well. It gets worse as the night goes along and you know how hard it will be to deal with the world tomorrow. Why does it always seem that an hour or less before the alarm goes off you drift into the deepest sleep and then you are jolted awake! Sometimes I think it's easier to get no sleep at all!

i always feel like when i read a chapter or two from a book when im laying in bed it makes me more tired and relaxed. also, if you massage your eyes it kinda relaxes you more. if your eyes are tired it makes you sleep quicker. sometimes i have fallen asleep in the middle of reading a book. or if youre in a bad mood, lift it up and youll be more peaceful

It's curious how a problem you've skipped over during the day will surface at night when trying to doze off. My solution is to cast my mind over to something pleasant I do, such as hobby or other pleasant pastime and where an interesting challenge is still unsolved.

This happens with me several times a night. I have a lot on my mind. It is not fun.

I usually rub one out and fall right asleep

@BellaLocura: lol. I was even going to offer a photo to help.
