Romans 1 vs 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [g]Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Amen !

ROFLMAO!

What evidence is there thhat what we see is the work of your god rather than any other? Why not Brahma, the creator, for example?

This guy is very tedious. As a Catholic, I believe in God. I also have a degree in Biology, and believe in the biological evolution of life.

Science and the belief in God is not mutually exclusive.

But there is no way I can sit through this sermon.
Carazaa · F
@HoraceGreenley For how the big bang happened and beautiful valleys with perfect temperature and stars at night and Sun in the day? 😂 Good try! Prove it!
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Carazaa I told you already. God is the agent of the Big Bang. The universe is His handiwork

@HoraceGreenley Glad we agree!

[c=666666]I only watched the first few minutes, but just wanted to say that I disagree; I don't think many people who do not believe in God, are putting Christians to shame. If he thinks that (as he says he does), he is spending too much time on social media, where all the dumb people accumulate during their days. Instead, step outside, to the real world, and ask people what they think of Christians — very few will say one bad word about someone else's faith.[/c]

@Carazaa Science itself and it predictions along with math is only explained in a Theistic paradigm. In an atheistic paradigm such study is impossible to explain.
Carazaa · F
@hippyjoe1955 I agree!

Define bad science ? Geology for example shows the great flood to be a lie. The rock layers could not form in the time period . Is geometry your idea of bad science ? How much do you know about it ? Anthropology says the flood did not happen. Is Anthropology a bad science ? How many years did you study it ? Paleontology, , archeology, which one is your specialty? Which one made you doubt the whole ? Can’t you see how hypocritical it is to judge something you know nothing about ?
In if god inspired the sciences why do they contradict the Bible ? Shouldn’t they confirm it ? You own arguments betray you.
“[R]eligion was the race's first (and worst) attempt to make sense of reality. It was the best the species could do at a time when we had no concept of physics, chemistry, biology or medicine. We did not know that we lived on a round planet, let alone that the said planet was in orbit in a minor and obscure solar system, which was also on the edge of an unimaginably vast cosmos that was exploding away from its original source of energy. We did not know that micro-organisms were so powerful and lived in our digestive systems in order to enable us to live, as well as mounting lethal attacks on us as parasites. We did not know of our close kinship with other animals. We believed that sprites, imps, demons, and djinns were hovering in the air about us. We imagined that thunder and lightning were portentous. It has taken us a long time to shrug off this heavy coat of ignorance and fear, and every time we do there are self-interested forces who want to compel us to put it back on again.”

@DocSavage The industrial revolution, and the tech revolution started in Christian countries by schristian families inspired by God for the purpose of blessing those countries!

@Carazaa
What were the Christian origins of the steam engine ? Or the cotton gin ? Which saint did Henry Ford attribute the combustion engine ? How about Edison ? You credit god, I believe in human ingenuity. It gets things done.
Science has given us much. What has theology ever provided?

Theology has given us hell.

This might sound like i'm being a snot-nosed little punk to you, I assure you, it's not my intention to mock or try to discredit anything. I'm legitimately curious. When you pray for others, for the salvation of the unbelievers or the sinful....do you include Satan in those prayers? Do you pray for Satan's salvation? If not, why not?
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Carazaa I believe you have no comprehension skills then. Whether or not you pray for it is of no concern to me. Seriously. I do not want to draw ANYONE away from their faith, whatever that faith may be.

If praying for the ultimate evil's salvation and return FROM evil is 'trying to be God', praying for anyone's salvation is, likewise, trying to be God. Again, you seem to be confusing 'pray for' with 'pray to'.

"God rule Satan! He decides, not me." God also rules us, correct? He decides whether we are worthy of Heaven or not, correct? And yet, you see nothing wrong with praying for a human being. Where's the difference, really? Satan sinned? For ALL have sinned. Why are we forgivable and he is not? "Because he chooses not to be." Correct. But when a human chooses not to be, you ask God to give them guidance. To set them on the pure and righteous path. Who needs that guidance most?

Again, I'm not saying let's tell God..."Hey, man, y'know get over it. Satan's a good dude, give him another chance." No. I'm saying "God, if Satan can be lead back to you, I ask that you give him guidance. To help him see the error of his ways, so that he may once again know your grace and love."

How is this sentiment evil? I see it as an ultimate validation of God's power, his Love, his righteousness.

Or, continue seeing me as Satan himself if you wish.

I guess I’ll just ask you— what do you really want? Is it that everyone follow Christ’s Sermon on the Mount and Sermon on the Plain? That everyone follow the Great Commandment? That would be great, right? That would be a great thing. A society rooted in mundane and transcendent love. But I don’t get the sense that is what you want. So I’m curious. And thus I’m asking.
Carazaa · F
@BlueSkyKing Science is science. There is no "Biblical" science!

If someone is standing in a church trying to discuss science..then they have already lost me..
That audience doesn’t need convincing.
Carazaa · F
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Wrong example. I never mentioned the Jesuits. You obviously have no sense of history.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 ...you sound more and more like another witless wonder here...

For many years the Jesuits ran a foul of the mainstream theological view points of the church..

Another example
Copernicus, a deacon, not a priest..hid his word fearing
For his life..

Joe...stay in your lane.
He says that it’s ironic that those who tell you your life is meaningless find meaning in their life. I’d say the same for people who tell me I’m going to burn in hell forever for not bowing to a man made deity just as ironic. Nobody knows.
Carazaa · F
@LilithoftheTrees I know there is a God!
DocSavage · M
Evolution is a theory, not a fact. How many times do Christians bring that up, and how many times do we have to explain to them what a theory actually is ?
Christians seem to think if they deny it , their faith becomes equal to what they call an unsupported belief. .
When are they going to stop realize that’s not the way it works.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
So only your atheists friends have to commit to looking through the rabbit hole video?

Phew for me
Bad for the rabbit tho 😬
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
@Carazaa well logically I was explaining why I didn’t watch the video
Carazaa · F
@yeronlyman 🙂no need to explain!

Science is about what can be proved beyond reasonable doubt. Re.Ligion is about bs spin lies fabrications and blinkered belief for which there is no tangible scientific proof (and a book of stories isn't 'scientific' or 'proof'). All power to you and anyone else who chooses to accept what you are told is true instead of examining it under the microscope to verify it's authenticity, but many people refute/refuse Re.Ligion because it doesn't stack up under scientific scrutiny.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@zonavar68 I bet you think that makes sense don't you? Too bad you missed my point entirely.
DocSavage · M
To our Christian megalomaniacs. How many of you know enough about the science to out credit the people who spent a life time studying it. ?

He’s read it and the Catholic Bible several times, so has Arron Ra. Both were raised by strict Christian families. In strict Christian communities. Knowing something of their history and biography you can’t expect me to take you at your word.
I believe in honest choice, and information exchange. In an open forum you should expect opposition. I expect you to be closed minded, don’t bother with the excuses.
