Ancient times..

Lilymoon · F
Oh geeze 🙄
Viper · M
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." Matthew 7:1-5

The lord is our judge, not man.
Carazaa · F
@Viper I am not sinning!
Viper · M
@Carazaa That's exactly what a sinner would say.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Romans 6:23
Carazaa · F
@Viper I didn’t say that I’m not a sinner but I’m not actively sinning daily and I have repented and Jesus forgave my sins and has given me discernment to live a Godly life! I am here because I want people to be blessed in their lives too.
SW-User
Fear mongering is not a good way to make people believe. You want to win souls? Lead by example. Just saying.
Carazaa · F
@Viper I’m only quoting Gods word! You’re judging me remember? You’re on my post 😏
Viper · M
@Carazaa Ha! There we see the lier! You have clearly both quoted the bible and judged people as well.

The bible doesn't give an exception for being okay when it's on your post, you are holding yourself to one standard and asking people to follow a different standard.
Carazaa · F
@Viper 💞
Perhaps, instead of just throwing out a controversial verse all willy nilly, you should give context to said verse and expand on whats, wheres, and whys. Or, share valid commentaries written by those who have studied and are educated in scripture.

Witnessing is not about shoving the faults of people down their throat. It’s about showing God’s love (through your own words and actions) in spite of our many faults and sins.

Just my thoughts. Do with them what you will; although, I’m pretty certain you will either delete this or condemn me through other misguided scripture.
@Carazaa He is my rock, my strength, and my salvation.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
Not at all interested in religion. It is all a fraud. @Pinkstarburst @Pinkstarburst
@FlowersNButterflies Then it’s a good thing no one invited you into the conversation isn’t it?
Northwest · M
Or it could be irreconcilable differences. Shit happens, you know.
Carazaa · F
@robb65 Because of the “hardness of our hearts” We can have a divorce, but I want Gods blessing!
Northwest · M
@Carazaa
Because of the “hardness of our hearts” We can have a divorce, but I want Gods blessing!
I am not making a religious judgment, but religion and "sanctity of marriage" have been used all along, to legitimize spousal abuse, willingly or not.
Carazaa · F
@Northwest separation is not divorce!
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
🤦🏻‍♀️. Yeah, ok.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@Carazaa Thats very magical but what if a man beats on his wife or go gets laid elsewhere? I’d rather get divorced and go to hell personally.
Carazaa · F
@Keepitsimple God promises to the wife “ you can win your husband to Christ without a word” but it’s also lawful to separate and we have to have standards of love for our families! When a wife separates then a husband will often go for counseling, drug treatment, and get help.
Carazaa · F
@Harriet03 yes Jesus likes this!
My aunt was beaten across all four walls of her own home until the death of her husband. So much so that her facial features coarsened from getting punched in the face, much like a boxer.

It was this very verse, this very language, that was used by her own mother to tell her to stay in her abusive marriage. She made a vow in front of a God and had to make good of it. Being disrespected, humiliated, beaten, undermined, made scared in her own home— too bad. That wasn’t grounds for divorce in the church she was married in.

The only things that were grounds for divorce in the church were if her husband stepped out on her, cheated, or if he lost his faith. Which he evidently didn’t. For some inexplicable reason, beating your wife to a pulp isn’t a sign of one’s spirituality gone bad. Amazing really.

Yea. So— no.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
A guy who divorces his wife and gets married again needs his head read. 🙄🤭
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@Harriet03 That`s bullshit! 😅
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Degbeme [image deleted]
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@Harriet03 I really do need a nap.
Jpfunjunky · 41-45, M
Yet in Deuteronomy it speaks of a divorced woman getting remarried, falling out of favor and getting divorced again, but now she’s defiled.
Bottom line, it was an archaic patriarchal society that looked upon women as lesser than men. The fact that she would be defiled after being married and divorced twice screams of sexism.
Yes in Luke and Matthew it says if a woman gets divorced she has to wait until he dies to remarry. So yet another inconsistency in the Bible. At the very least it’s a misinterpretation of the original text. So much for the infallibility theory.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Jpfunjunky · 41-45, M
@Adstar I was raised around people who believed as the OP does. Romans 7:2-3 doesn’t specify that divorce frees you from being bound, so they believe it to the letter. I’m not of that persuasion. Personally I gave up on Christianity long ago.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Jpfunjunky It seems to me that you gave up their interpretation of Christianity.. And you seemed to assume their interpretation of Christianity was Christianity..

I was born into a devout catholic family and they had another interpretation of the will of God different again.. I gave up their interpretation of Christianity when a friend gave me a Bible to read in my early 20's..

I did not give up on Christianity.. I wasn't a Christian, i was a catholic.. I became a Christian when i read the Bible..
SW-User
People who believe that should see psychiatrist...
Carazaa · F
@SW-User I don’t need any help but Gods because I am happy and he answers every prayer 🙂
KickfaceK · 31-35, F
Adultery never felt so good. 🙄
KickfaceK · 31-35, F
@Carazaa physical and mental abuse isn't an excuse... it is a reality and it is truly evil. If abuse and adultery are judged the same then I don't want to be with a God like that.
Carazaa · F
@KickfaceK
You go and be “happy” then!
KickfaceK · 31-35, F
@Carazaa I intend to and I doubt I'll be judged for it like you seem to think I will. Lol.
NickiHijab · F
How is it adulterous to marry when divorced?🤔
Coppercoil · M
@Carazaa God never answers me though.. his inbox must be overwhelming.
NickiHijab · F
@Carazaa context always helps.
I also don't think God would have this on top of his lists of concerns.
Carazaa · F
@NickiHijab Our country is under judgement I think because of our sins! And our kids are not doing good! And we need to repent!
Marceline · F
11. Genesis 19:8

“Look, I have two daughters, virgins both of them. Let me bring them out to you and you could do what you like with them. But do nothing to these men because they have come under the shelter of my roof.”
Marceline · F
@Adstar shows the lack of value and respect people had for women and see it more as a tradable commodity
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Marceline Yes indeed He was a faulty man who made an evil suggestion in an attempt to avoid another evil.. But i am wondering why you posted it here ?
Sharon · F
@Marceline Don't forget the christian marriage ceremony. How the the question "Who gives this woman for marriage?" be interpreted any way other than the transfer of ownership of livestock?
Paul82 · 41-45, M
yeah this is one of many reasons why Abrahamic religions are bullshit!
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Why all the hate? 🤔
Carazaa · F
@Harriet03 I fear God, not man!
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Carazaa I think it's reality you're scared of hun.
Please never sit on a jury?
Carazaa · F
@Harriet03 Maybe you need to fear God?
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@HootyTheNightOwl thing is some actually believe that they're without sin
Carazaa · F
@MarineBob 💞true! Frightening! We need to repent!
🤦‍♀️ You know its people like you who make people hate Christianity. 👀 And this is coming from a fellow Christian. We are not here to judge.
🙄 that's why it's just easier to not believe in God. Divorce can be awful, but so can marriage.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@SomebodyThatYouUsedToKnow Yes as i have often said .. Disagreement comes before disbelief..
MarineBob · 56-60, M
So says that preacherman that likes altar boys
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
What I've wondered is, what the if a woman divorces her husband? I mean if she no longer wants to be married then what is the man supposed to do? He has no choice but to respect her wishes.

FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
You know that 26% of Americans are now, reasonably, agnostic, atheists, irreligious and anti religion?
Viper · M
@Carazaa So they're evil because they allow marriages?

Also you don't need a pastor to get married...
Carazaa · F
@Viper Many pastors are not born again Christians and don’t follow the Bible!
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
Because religion tries to control its' member through sex. @Viper @Viper
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
Then we might as well commit adultery with wild abandon then
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
It is not for you to judge them.
Carazaa · F
@Viper my x husband left me and married someone else for a year and then wanted to come back but be because he married again I can’t marry him or anyone else until he’s dead. I have gotten a few proposals and I want to marry again in the future but it has to be a Godly man. I am dedicating my life to witness and I am happy! God is good to me!
Viper · M
@Carazaa So I was right, throwing shade and pent up sexual frustrations.

If you were truely happy, you probably wouldn't be passing judgements on others... that's the lord's place, not ours.
Carazaa · F
@Viper I’m very happy with my life, thank you! God wants this time in my life to be dedicated to him and witnessing and working in my business!
ThaiGirl · 26-30, F
Sorry, no agree me
nedkelly · 61-69, M
What a load of bullshit
Adstar · 56-60, M
Matthew 5: KJV
32 "[c=#BF0000]But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery[/c]."
Fairydust · F
@Carazaa wow 😮 a “COLD” heart can’t forgive an affair.. ffs

@CopperCicada Separation would get a person to go to counseling, and alcoholic anonymous.
Come to the Middle East where Christianity still ban divorce.
PinkPunk · F
so you are saying that trump will go to hell ???
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@PinkPunk Luke is.
Fairydust · F
What about a woman that divorces her husband? Lol 😬
gregloa · 61-69, M
Expect for unfaithfulness and of course abuse.
Wordlover · F
What if you didn’t get married in a church?

@Carazaa Thank you. Spread the word. I shall leave you alone.
Carazaa · F
@Colormegone Thank you!💞
Cantsayno · 56-60, M
No, if you’re divorced. The other person knows it’s done. Adultery is when your partner doesn’t know you’re screwing around.
Carazaa · F
@MarineBob
Yes you have to be faithful to God! And faithful to your mate if you want to be blessed!
Cantsayno · 56-60, M
@Carazaa I will have to respectfully agree to disagree
Carazaa · F
@Cantsayno This is not open for debate it’s Gods word!
This dumb an old school.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
Cool story bro.
Thanos · 31-35, M
Highskirt · 56-60, M
I thought it was only adultery if the couple were still married and one re married
Highskirt · 56-60, M
@HootyTheNightOwl wow .i was brought up as a Catholic and I never knew that .not that I'm thinking of divorce though
Carazaa · F
@Highskirt I am just quoting God! I for one wants to be blessed and I won’t challenge Gods word!
Carazaa · F
@Highskirt This bible verse is from a Christian Bible not Catholic!
Jill1990 · 31-35, F
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M

@Colormegone I can't imagine a man who has been more faithful and loyal to his three wives and the porn star.
