Matthew 5: KJV
32 "[c=#BF0000]But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery[/c]."

@Adstar
“because of the hardness of your heart” I won’t take that chance!

@Carazaa The Word of God must be taken in.. In it's entirety.. Doctrines should never be based on one verse.. We need to take in the entire council of the Word of God on each issue and the topic of marriage and divorce are no different..

Having read your comments i see you have separated with your former husband.. So in actual fact you have not divorced your husband yet.. So in the eyes of god you are still married.. Note if your ex has shacked up with another woman or has had casual sexual relations with other woman then He is guilty of committing Adultery and as Jesus declares in Matthew 5:32.. Adultery is just cause for legitimate divorce..

I would also advise you of what Paul revealed about grounds for separation when He said if an unbelieving husband or wife wants to depart then let them and the Christian is no longer under bondage in such cases..

1 Corinthians 7: KJV
13 "And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. {14} For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. {15} But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace."

So divorce is permissible for a Christian woman if their unbelieving husband leaves them..

Again Carazaa all the Word of God has to be absorbed and accepted to get the overall picture of the will of God..

@Adstar We are not in bondage to that marriage! But I am a divorced woman and I will obey God rather than man. Whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery! I will obey God! You can do what ever but I will never compromise!

@Carazaa So be it..

@Adstar I think that sin can be forgiven too ofcourse but we have polygamy in my opinion! people getting divorced and remarried 2 or 3 times and living in poverty because of blended misery of kids being supported and not having Dads and molested by stepdads and uncles and cousins from numerous families! The wrath of God is coming on our nation! And our poor kids are suicidal!
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Carazaa Well yes it is always better for everyone if married couples remain strongly bonded to each other and loyal to each other and they are good parents for their kids..

But sadly the best situation is often not attained by mortal faulty people..
Carazaa · F
@Adstar I see first hand daily the devastation of blended families and people who refuse to just attend to their kids but need someone to marry because their cold heart and can’t forgive an affair. Parents who can’t see their own kids because of court orders, and the poverty that results for generations! Why can’t we just do what God requires and obey, and be blessed!

@CopperCicada Separation would get a person to go to counseling, and alcoholic anonymous.
