Perhaps, instead of just throwing out a controversial verse all willy nilly, you should give context to said verse and expand on whats, wheres, and whys. Or, share valid commentaries written by those who have studied and are educated in scripture.

Witnessing is not about shoving the faults of people down their throat. It’s about showing God’s love (through your own words and actions) in spite of our many faults and sins.

Just my thoughts. Do with them what you will; although, I’m pretty certain you will either delete this or condemn me through other misguided scripture.

Gods wrath is on the world I believe, because of adulteries, divorces, many remarriages, and kids growing up without Dads, fighting, increased drug use and poverty. This might have insulted you personally but I tell the truth and could care less if you like me or not!

@Carazaa People don't dislike you (despite your hate filled posts), they pity you!
Personally I worry about you.

@Harriet03 I worry about the kids who are suicidal!

@Carazaa Kids are suicidal for all kinds of reasons sadly.

@Harriet03 Because their parents can’t stop fighting mostly!
@Carazaa I am not insulted at all and it isn't a matter of liking you or disliking you (of which I said nothing about).

I just believe it's important when you are quoting scripture to also include the context of said scripture. Luke 16 is a continuing conversation that Jesus was having with the Pharisees. The Pharisees were angry because Jesus welcomed those who they perceived to be sinners and far below them (tax collectors, prostitutes, Gentiles) to come listen to him speak. Jesus was telling Pharisees that they were no better than the others assembled.

Because of their perceived superiority and judgement of sins over other people, they were the same as, if not worse, than those they were judging and, in fact, Jesus used this comment specifically because the Pharisees were known to change wives at their leisure.

The context of this specific verse was not expanding on God's laws. It was an example to show one group that they were worse for judging others instead of looking at their own behaviors and lives.

As for your feelings on the detriment to children of divorce...I honestly do not know if there are specific scriptures for this, I will have to look closer. However, using this verse for that subject is misleading. That's why I encouraged you to share the Word by putting it in context.

@Pinkstarburst I just quoted God and didn’t want to put my opinion on it like you do!

@FlowersNButterflies Then it’s a good thing no one invited you into the conversation isn’t it?
