Actually, the lack of relationship itself is awesome. The mere ability to react to thoughts or jokes without necessarily being in any kind of relationship with the person who tells them. In real life I would have to be close to the person, "to sit at the same table", otherwise it would be weird, awkward...

Being anonymous for the most part and sharing whatever thoughts you have I guess!

Learning new things and experiences of other people.

In real life I don’t see my friends on a daily basis …

I love the way I can see my friends here everyday and that I spend time with them as long as my time allows me (Same applies for them too) ..

I have only been here, maybe a month. I have no spouse, family lives very far away and they do not make an effort to communicate, local friends are not really interested in who I am and are mostly co-workers and no one around my age. I am not a social butterfly, so meeting new people is very difficult for me. In real life, married men are the ones who come forward asking me out. I know their intent is not to really know me or care about me, and I do not want that or a wife coming after me, all because I want companionship. Single men are not interested in me. Don’t ask me why because I have no idea why. This has been the case my entire adult life.

Those I communicate with on here, must appear to be more than just someone seeking attention or confirmation or someone desperate for something they really need to be seeking in real life as it cannot be achieved online. I am not a therapist or a counsellor or a mentor. It is probably easier to list what it does not provide me or what I do not want, than it is to describe what I have found in this first month here. I was pleasantly surprised at the caliber of people I have met here so far. Yes, there are still those I am cautious of and do not interact with.

I have been on other sites, they were toxic. All I want is authentic communication and to enjoy what I build with friends here. My experience here is a positive one in comparison to the other sites I have visited. I considered having a penpal, and meeting people on here from all around the world makes it possible.

This is a really good question - probably the best question I‘ve read in months.

You know, the thing is this:

I never found a friend in real life. Not one single time.
And there was also never a partner in my life who loved me.
I am not sure why, but probably it’s because I don’t look nice like other women.

And online it is the only possibility for me to have social contacts. Here I have found two very good longterm-friends. The one has left after six years, but the other one is still there. And I am so grateful for it because I know when I never had a friend in real life this also will not happen in future.

And this my friebdship here is the only thing what I can call still a little bit „quality of life.“

A place to say things I'd never say anywhere else.

I like being anonymous and write without filters.

Tons of people to chat to about anything and at any time day or night. Nothing I say will have consequences and there are people who understand alternative life styles and who can share their understanding and ideas. There's also the opportunity to remove any SW member from my life, never to be heard from again and at the click of a button.

I can be myself here. I don’t have to play a role or fit a mold or stifle what no one cares to listen to. It helps me remember who I am.

People with mindsets, passions and hobbies that differ from the people in my IRL circle.

My boyfriend is a depressed introvert so after we've done things together and he's in his zoned out mode and exhausted while I'm bubbling of energy to socialize and have fun - Yet too tired to actually physically meet up with people. I come here and get a good laugh and embrace feeling old 🧓🏼

I like the simplicity of meeting other people. You can make friends and learn. It’s an easy way to keep the mind moving, with some substance, without taking things too seriously.

In a nutshell, I can spam my thoughts , without inadvertently overburdening anyone close.

Also there's anominominity, so no real harm done

Every other aspect of SW is a plus! 🍓

I wouldn't say it offers much

I can vent here without it leading to an argument or upsetting anyone in my real life.

I can muse about things without being met with the blank stares of people who I'm just too deep for.

And I can ask advice here and get it completely unbiased because no one here knows me.

I am the Queen of my own kingdom/account who finds her share of smiles here.

I like that I can just pop in and out when I want, interact or not when I want, offer advice and try to help others, and speak unfiltered all anonymously. I can vent freely, hold myself accountable by journaling, or really use this site for absolutely whatever I want however I want 😂 Heck, it could be my home base karaoke station if I wanted it to be 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

It's a place I don't feel pressured to conform etc normally.
