That's an easy one... I'd just come home to visit Mom and Dad after having been overseas for years and she made my favorite meal... her specialty pot roast, mashed potatoes with green beans and salad.
My grandmother was there too... she half raised me, so I can't say it was the food, but with the three of them there, it was the best meal I've ever eaten.
The night my husband proposed to me, he had me taken to a nice restaurant at the top of a high-rise building. I had never heard of that place before that night. I ordered a fillet and braised asparagus. While eating, I kept thinking that this was the best fillet ever. I wasn't sure if it was the moment or the food. On our 15th Anniversary, we went there again to celebrate our marriage. The owner recognized us, and when he learned it was the anniversary of the night my husband proposed to me there, he got emotional and thanked us for coming. He comped our entire meal and announced at our table why we were there. The fillet was excellent again, but maybe not as magical as the first.
It was the chicken parm dinner at a restaurant in MA ...it was the most delicious chicken Parmigiana Ever. Just succulent and the sauce had a slight sweetness. I believe it closed years later ...but it was the BEST😭
@Primnproper yeah was great. Only problem is i was pretty drunk at the time and i forget exactly what i put into that glaze and have never been able to replicate it
That's a tough one. I've had so many amazing meals over the years. I can say that recently the best meal I've eaten was an oxtail meal from a Caribbean restaurant. The portion was a good size and the taste was phenomenal.
Wow! What a question for a foodie like me! 🤔 I think it's going to have to the first really posh place I went to in rural Berkshire, when I was about 14. A cousin, who was virtually the same age as my parents, was paying. I don't remember anything about the food but I loved this review some 25 years later. Today, The Royal Oak in Yattendon would probably be called a gastro-pub!
@SW-User I remember when my son left home and he rang and asked me for my recipe as it was his favourite meal and he said the same as you. He did it word for word but didn’t taste the same. Lol

@Primnproper Children may overlook mothers in so many ways when they get busy with lives but when it comes to food...nu'uh. 😂
A couple years ago we went to a fancier restaurant here had pork morel with potatoes and roasted carrots. For dessert flourless chocolate cake...very tasty.
Parmesan-crusted filet of sole, shredded brussel sprouts, rice pilaf. You know how something tastes so good it actually makes you feel happy ? That fish was phenomenal.
@Primnproper I had that on my 1984 bus tour of northern europe and most of the fancy meals were Cordon Bleu but the rump roast was so wonderfully tender’
That's impossible to answer. I've eaten so many amazing meals over the years.
Oh! Wait! Maybe it's not impossible. My partner makes the best lasagna on the planet. Don't even argue anyone, I despise your lasagna already. I bet you put effing vegetables in yours. So effing disgusting. 🤮
