My New Hire is Trans, What Now?

I started my first and only company a couple of months ago, and my first hire turned out to be trans.

What do I do now?

We have to be walked twice a day and are allergic to chocolate

@PalteseMalconFunch Like I say, it don't matter who you are, you have my respect until your disrespectful. It don't matter if his trans or not
PalteseMalconFunch · 36-40, T
@DiliMarky Things would be a lot better if more people thought that way

Treat them like any other human being.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Ummmm…allow them to do the job you found them qualified to do????
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
@DiliMarky Why wouldn’t I??? When you hired the person I assume you felt they were qualified and experienced for the job. How does their sexual orientation change their ability to do the job??? If you are thinking about firing them I suggest you not do that. You will be breaking a federal law.
DiliMarky · M
@Pinkstarburst I was hoping it would be a woman so that I didn't have to pay her as much...

Then in the second year I can look good by bridging the gender pay gap
@Pinkstarburst Not only does their sexual orientation not change anything, neither does their race, religion, cultural orientation, ethnicity, etc. We're all the same. Spirit is spirit. And there's only One.

You hired them to do a job. Period! So let them do it.
LadyGrace · 70-79
@DiliMarky Who said that matters?
DiliMarky · M
@LadyGrace Who did say it matters?
Briggett · T
@LadyGrace best advice and best answer
Ashly · 26-30, F
If they’re qualified and they actually work and get the job done then it shouldn’t really be an issue
Selah ·
My job attracts trans people bc our insurance covers gender affirming procedures and we have a very strict anti-discrimination policy.
Try having a conversation with them, they won't bite I promise
@HijabaDabbaDoo
they won't bite

Liar.
meJess · F
Doesn’t matter, only consideration should be if they can do the job.
dale74 · M
Are they the absolute best candidate for the job are they doing the job you hired them for if so that's great. If they're not and they're wanting to bring social constructs into the workplace let them know that your work place does not mix politics on the social economic grounds in the workplace. As long as they perform their job do not make the company look bad then you don't care what they do on their time.
Worst case scenario sell the business lay off all employees purchase the business with a different LLC and then hire new employees
DiliMarky · M
@dale74 Yeah Dale, what @CestManan said. Don't be transphobic.
dale74 · M
@DiliMarky I am not he was a thief and really had no experience he was CEO of his own company that did very little.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@dale74 I do not think there is any higher amount of thieves or other types of crominals per capita among trans folks.

But either way, if someone IS stealing, that is not something an employer can tolerate.

Really dude? Is that what happened? Uh...ok. Then I'd suggest getting out more. If you can't tell someone is trans you need some more life experience.
If your hire is qualified for the position and competent at their job duties that’s all that you need to address.
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
I was in outside sales for years I never really knew who was straight and who was gay wasnt my business
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Not a damned thing. It's got nothing to do with the job, does it?
DiliMarky · M
@ChipmunkErnie What if it did?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@DiliMarky I can't see how it would unless you're running some kind of sexual operation?
Iwillwait · M
Remove all Placques off of Bathroom doors

DunningKruger · 61-69, M
