I block when people ask for money

I only unblock if I see they are no longer members so I can get my blocks back.

Do people even know if they have been unblocked

If I block someone they stay blocked.

If it’s gotten to the point that I think they belong in the crapper, they’re staying in the crapper. 🚽

Sometimes I will block someone temporarily I will even let them know I’m giving you two weeks off. Then later I can unblock them and see if they’ve changed their behavior.

Once you go blocked, you never go back

I haven't blocked anyone because in those 3 months I am with SW, I haven't posted anything conflictual. I have also tried not to be arrogant, caustic or giving anyone a reason why they should block me.

I may at time be sarcastic yes, but if one cannot take a little sarcasm that is not intended to hurt the feelings of anyone, then those people should ask themselves why they are even here on this site.

It is a platform to exchange ideas, views and other opinions. You should convey a message in a way that does not cause conflicts or bad blood.

Adhering to those basic principles is key and primordial in my opinion to avoid having to block any one or to be blocked by someone.

Yes, I do concur that everyone deserves a 2nd. chance except for those that don't...

I don't block unless the person needs blocking... they've had plenty of chances before I block and they will stay that way.

I am rare to block, even more rare to unblock

I don't agree. After 4 years in SW, in which I daily chatted, I now come near the 500 blocks and I think its okay. As a girl you get constantly molested and offended for what you are, not are and what people wants to have from you, so often, blocking is the last way to get rid of that.

I’ve blocked and unblocked people. Sometimes it just thinking things might be misunderstood or miscommunication and give a second chance. Ive been blocked and unblocked too for similar reasons. I try to give people benefit of the doubt

I just really try not to block people ever but if I have to then it's usually permanent. I mean I've blocked about 10 people in 5 years, so yeah I really do try hold my finger off the trigger.

But a lot depends on your personal strategy for blocking in the first place though. If you block people for little or nothing then you obviously might think about unblocking them again.. If you blocked them because they're constantly following you around harassing you for reasons that will never change then you might not, but it's totally your choice how you go about it. x

New here. Still learning, but I think I wouldn’t participate in any arguments here. Walking away is the best for my bear health.

In life, I give people many chances, I don't even see them as chances.

Now here, I've been here long enough, I have started to learn there are certain people I don't need, or topics.... and coincidentally they talk about those topics constant (usually political), so I make a feed here looking for the content I want to see.

So while sometimes muting works, including groups, if I know I'm just not wanting to see this, as it's not what I'm here for, I have no hard feelings blocking.

SW should have a week once a year where everyone is unblocked and unable to be blocked. It would make this place a bit more interesting.

Like @Pretzel I only unblock people after they have been gone for several years. I very seldom find the need to block anyone though I do use the "mute" facility quite readily

I have unblock people many times. I used it as a timeout. I only block a person for a couple of days

I have given a few people here a second chance, always re blocked within like 3 messages. They never learn

No i dont even look at my block list.. but also i dont block unless i feel insulted really, so i dont think the list is that long🤔

I unblock 5 users every 3 years. I remove the inactive accounts then select 5.

I only unblock when I reach my limit of blocks, and then I start unblocking at the end of the list — people I blocked five or six years ago — assuming that most of them won't be active users anymore.

The problem with this is that it sometimes becomes immediately apparently why I blocked someone, and it may be several days before I can block them again.

There isn't much point in blocking people.
People have alt accounts so you end up seeing them anyways.

Plus when someone blocks, they have shown you cannot trust them cause they will just do it again eventually.

I use the feature very sparingly because - no real point.

When I reach 150, I unblock. Not the ones whom I clearly remember why I blocked. The undesirables or enemies. The rest, yes.

Of course! Everyone gets unblocked eventually by me. But it usually takes years when I'm feeling bored one day and wish to clear out my list.

I have had one person I blocked use a third part here to say they were sorry and asked me to unblock them. I unblocked the person I blocked with specific orders of any kind of sexual or lifestyle harassment ever again and they get blocked and reported. That has worked that one time only and I am not very open to the idea of it again.

Now I have gone back and looked at my blocked list and if the person no longer is a member here for a year or more then I unblock them to free up a block if I need it futuristically.

It is, of course, possible to accidentally block someone; in which case it would simply be correcting a mistake

Yes I have and sometimes it’s nice to give others a second chance but hopefully the reason they were blocked at first was not a really bad one lol

I almost never block. But when I do I also unblock after some measure of time. I currently have no one blocked.
