When someone says *thank you..*

Whether in an email or text, do you respond with No problem, or just leave it. ?

I know either is fine in reality, but sometimes I can't decide lol. I typically will say No problem, but my sister says I don't always have to respond back too.

My mother taught us if a person said thank you to you, then you return it with you are welcome. I can't break that teaching.

Email no, text yes lol. I’m not a big fan of lone thank you and you’re welcome replies in emails because it clutters up the chain. Happens all the time at work and I just get annoyed by it

@chasingMonday Well I sent the list to the owner and 2 managers, per their usual instructions. When I got the thank you email from the owner, I felt very compelled to respond back, but ultimately didn't

@chasingMonday What if not a work email however? Or maybe work related but just you and one other person. ? I think a *no problem* is fine but also, if nothing sent is ok too. I guess it's ok if they leave an email with thank you.

@Coralmist if it’s just you and another person then it’s probably ok

If all I was going to say is “no problem “I may not bother. If I’m going to respond, I would probably say something somewhat more substantial, like “it was my pleasure, happy to help “because if you’re going to bother sending a message you might as well put something in it.

Oh if someone in a text says thank you, I always respond you're welcome back
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
Yes I always answer back with a your welcome at least

I sometimes say "you're welcome."

Text and in person, always. Email, never (unless the client or whoever has their picture on their autosignature and I think they're hot).

Depends on the situation and the person saying it. Sometimes I just "react" to the email.

Depending who they are I sometimes give a heart or thumbs up reaction

Bad habit of always having to have a follow up comment 😂

If it's a big deal I reply
