Only I can leave w/2bags from there spending almost $80. I’m not even sure how that happened 😟🤔🤭 Bags are staying in the car a bit till I accept this 😅🤣

Lol I would do that. I went into the new Dollar General in my tiny town. Manager was like...hey Becky..I just got two wooden Christmas Advent calendars that light up..with drawers. Your daughter will love it! Only TWO OF THEM! okay fine. I'll take it. Then she talked me into a wooden Thanksgiving sign

That’s why I have been making weekly treks to two discount stores each week. Wednesdays are 50 Cents days and I grabbed up a lot of good deals. I don’t go to Dollar stores very much now because of it.
@MellyMel22 yeah I go to the discount store as soon as it opens. The main thing is you have to be patient around other shoppers and also take the time to dig and sort through the stuff on the tables. I put back 5 items after I finished shopping, a couple of things had been opened or something missing. And decided I didn’t need the others. But some people will sort through everything reading the writing on the box and maybe have 4 or 5 things in their cart. It’s easier to do the reading and sorting after you finish, and it doesn’t clog up the lines at the table.
Grocery shopping is depressing because you don't get much for your money. You try to buy generic when you can and cut back and all that but you can only cut back so far.
My friend left the Walmart cash, smiling. Running up to me, saying : " It was 30; not 29.98 or 31...It landed right on $30!! It was like they'd won the lottery.
Later, they offered me a piece of Dentyne mint gum. Pieces had to be removed from the foil packet in order. Out of sequence removal got you banned for life. I took the packet, and just for fun punched out pieces in two random spots. They snatched it back.
6 months later, I was reading the newspaper, when they suddenly remembered what I'd done with the gum packet. Taking the scissors they'd been using and cut my page in half. "That's for last March!"
@MoonlightLullabyWell I never return that stuff, I just will be mad if I stare at it and given I also food shopped and had to unpack a lot, I thought I’d hold off 😅
@MellyMel22 I have to watch $5 and below because those $5's add up awfully quick on me. 😳 Then I get home and realize most of the crap wasn't even a bargain.🙄😠
@Degbeme I went back the next day to get the wall tape that the other one didn’t have. I said I’m gonna get 4 this way if I need it another day I’ll have it or if I need more than I think I need I won’t have to go back and spend more money. Here’s what I saw at the register when I went to pay for the 4 tapes 😡:
@DegbemeI put together something to hold bags that my mom loved and wanted. So I got the stuff from there that I needed and they didn’t have the tape. I didn’t think the tape would work, so I’ll only got one the time before so that I wouldn’t be mad 😡

I hit the dollar store in town a once or twice a month myself, better that traveling further to get to a super store for bananas and mild but damn the candy bars get me every time (I love the chuck bars and grab like five to ten of them each time to eat over a couple weeks' time), So I get ya. LOL
@MellyMel22 It is so difficult to just take one as your mind says too, and then I just grab five or more! LOL Mind says one thing and mouth says another.

@lispoiledbrat I think many can be full of junk, like where I used to live. Not where I am now though luckily. I go in for specific things that they have everywhere else way more and then I see this and that that I can use and that’s how it starts 🤣
The big CEO, Galen Weston of Loblaws here in Canada announced there would be a price freeze on No Name products until January 31, 2023. They typically freeze product prices at this time of the year and I am sure he will Jack them up before freezing them November 1st.
Grocery chain profits are sky rocketing and CEO’s are rolling in the money while people struggle to feed themselves. Gotta love greedy corporations.
@iamonfire696 Walmart jacks up prices in October and then has rollbacks starting about a month after Christmas but sometimes longer. They want to make sure they keep the prices up till people spend their gift cards. They say to counteract shoplifting losses but I think greed is a factor. They will put holiday foods, holiday candy, decorations and that type of on clearance sometime after New Years. Orthodox Christians don’t celebrate till around that time anyway so they buy it then. So people are going to shop in alternative places if they keep doing it. Or buy clearance and save those things for Christmas especially stocking stuffers and clothing items.
The dollar store chain here buys crap from Chinese vendors in bulk for cheap then sells it to us for quadruple the price. IDK why people even buy from there anymore.
@assemblingaknobThat stinks, I’m sorry to hear that. I’m fortunate to have decent ones nearby that have a great variety of things. Of course some things are junk, but I love what I can find that isn’t each time.
I can relate… I shop at a place called Save-A-Lot but with the way inflation is these days I’m tempted to tell a worker there to change the name of that fucking place 😠 lol
