That’s why I have been making weekly treks to two discount stores each week. Wednesdays are 50 Cents days and I grabbed up a lot of good deals. I don’t go to Dollar stores very much now because of it.

@cherokeepatti I’d do that too if we had it!

@MellyMel22 you bet you would if you have the time to do it. It was mostly older people today, but some mothers with babies too. I drive over 20 miles to do it but it pays off every time. I also drop by Winco on my way home and get some chicken and other groceries. Eggs at a local chain that used to be decently priced have gone up to nearly $18 for a 5-dozen case. I can get them for half that price at Winco (checked today) and they are a size smaller but that’s OK, still a good buy for eggs and protein.

@cherokeepatti Wow, it’s crazy how it all changed so fast!

@MellyMel22 There was a man stocking at the store that had eggs for over $17 a case. I mentioned to him that the prices had shot up. He said everything was going up. But obviously not at Winco to that extent. Their eggs had been $10 for a case and they dropped the price.

@cherokeepatti I’d be going there too.

@MellyMel22 yeah I go to the discount store as soon as it opens. The main thing is you have to be patient around other shoppers and also take the time to dig and sort through the stuff on the tables. I put back 5 items after I finished shopping, a couple of things had been opened or something missing. And decided I didn’t need the others. But some people will sort through everything reading the writing on the box and maybe have 4 or 5 things in their cart. It’s easier to do the reading and sorting after you finish, and it doesn’t clog up the lines at the table.

@cherokeepatti Oh okay. Sounds like it’s well worth it.
