Spending Christmas at My Grandparents. The car windshield was smashed along the way. So we were a day late in getting there. Nanna had saved Christmas lunch for us till we got there. Our grandparents back yard with equal part jungle and scrapyard. Lots to explore for us. Whilst the adults were in the shed around the pool table. I don't think we even turned the TV on during our stay there. It was awesome.

@Thevy29 Same. I miss them very much.

Christmas mornings seeing my dad cook breakfast for my mom. There eyes smiled at one another all day.
@rinkydinkydoink That’s beautiful.

Meeting "Star" who bandaged my scraped knee from a bike ride into a parked car. She is the ecstatic highlight of all of my childhood.

Learning to swim in a pond on my grandparents' farm with my mum and all my sisters. I had some of the people I loved most of all in the world helping me towards my greatest accomplishment to date. Oh, and I didn't have to wear a swimsuit!

I think I was quite sad and worried as a child but the best memories I have were when we were having family Christmases and everyone was together.

Haha! Playing board games with my nana, she always loved to catch me or accuse me of cheating. Even when I was playing fair. Hahaha! "You've been cheatering again!" She'd say. And I'd lose it and start giggling guiltily. My wife said she never quite knew where I came from, till she met my nana. I'm nothing like the rest of my family you see, but my nana and I are were kindred spirits.

In my bunk bed in a pitch black room. My brother on the top bunk. The both of us talking about the silliest shit. Laughing hysterically while trying not to be too loud. Mom eventually coming in to tell us to go to sleep. It was the best, yet thinking on it now its bittersweet.
My happiest memories were spending summers with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who had stayed in New Orleans. I didn’t feel so weird.

I don't have just one; it would truthfully be every single minute that I spend with my maternal grandparents. They were everything to me and I miss them so much.

Being read to by my parents from children's books. The cozy alcove of their laps.

Maybe going camping and swimming in the lakes with good diving boards and slides they had. It was freedom from the bad home life and bad school. Also liked going to the fair back then, and sled riding in the winter was fun too
I don't have much of any(happy memories). Especially not enough to call it a happiest. it was all a very odd and awkward time for me.

@DancingStarGoddess Same..I'm been sitting here for a bit trying to think of one best or special memory and I can't think of anything 🙁

I was a particularly miserable child, I put the blame on myself for this as I didn’t really have much to be miserable about. I guess the happiest was the end of childhood. My first holiday away from the parents and the family. At 16 I went camping for a fortnight in Wales with a friend and a ten pound note kindly donated by my father. It was total chaos! It rained most of the time, but it was enormous fun.

Playing outside during the interminable and always sunny (but not too hot) summer holidays and riding my bike to the nearest railway station to watch the trains.

Memories of course lie in details, but the emotions are real enough.
