Are people afraid of you?

I'm a veteran...and I'm trained in boxing, wrestling and hand-to hand combat.
Additionally, I was a sharpshooter using M-14 and M16 rifles.
Even having recently lost weight, I'm not a small guy.

Some people are afraid of me & some aren't....there's no need to be afraid if you're being nice, as I'll be nice as well. The only reason to be afraid would be if you antagonize me (or my friends/family).

Sometimes. This girl I worked with was I think use to be. Though she has an aversion towards men especially larger or muscular men like me. However given several months and a good word made on a mutual friends behalf shes warmed up to me. Smiles and waves, even made her laugh a few times.

Some are. Yet it's definitely not warranted when it happens.

I have been known to help even the homeless. Yet by some I'm breaking the law by doing so.

Not now. I was surprised to discover that guys were afraid of me when I was in high school and college. My girlfriend was free to date others, but a couple of guys told me years later that they were afraid I would beat them up if they asked her for a date. I was always friendly with those who did take her out.
