How to cope with having a crazy family?

I agree,if it's way too toxic, you need to step away from that. Take your own mental,health into consideration

I don't know the issues with which you are dealing, but I had certain family members who were narcissistic and toxic. I found that distance and never answering my phone didn't even help. Because they could travel...and they left messages with my son that were toxic and painful and he didn't know enough not to repeat them.

Get out. Get out as soon as humanly possible, and keep them at an immense distance if you can. Look for jobs that require travel. Move to the other side of the country.

Every family seems to have at least one that acts crazy. I just try to understand that they act that way and don't let it ruffle my feathers to much.

Keeping your distance, and ignoring them as much s you can.

Leave them behind. Just because an accident of birth has you sharing some DNA with some people doesn't mean you have to associate with them.

I had to cut all contact with most of mine.

I cut them many of them out of my life.
