Do you think it's wrong for a married woman to have a crush on someone, like a coworker?

It is ok for anyone to appreciate beauty or handsomeness..

I cannot judge anyone on this, but in my opinion, having a cruch is incontrolable and it should be ok as long as you keep it as a crush only and only to yourself....
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@Soossie yep, I'm agreeing
@ozgirl512

Im sorry.. I thought that you misunderstood me...

Thanka lady Oz... 🤗🤗💞

@TwistedSister true… and it’s hard to stop crushes. I’ve had them and knew I’d never act on them… lol
My boss flirts with guys and she is married lol I think it’s normal 🤷‍♀️
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Some times people are friendly. But not safe to flirt at work. HR gets into the picture,and that is never fun
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@bhatjc it's one thing to be friendly and it's a totally different thing to flirt. I'm very friendly with my coworkers but I never flirt
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 Good for you.
longhairedcougar · 51-55, F
Depends on marriage type and complications really.. there is no scope for extra marital at all if a woman or a man is happy with his or her partner
BalmyNites · F
You can have a crush, doesn’t mean to say you’re going to act upon it
SW-User
@BalmyNites This.
ClaireHeaded · 36-40, F
Nope. Married or not, you can't stop who you develop an attraction to. It's an entirely different matter to act upon those feelings though. That should always be done with the consent, and understanding of one's partner. And if that's not possible, then stick to the "look but don't touch" rule.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@ClaireHeaded I agree with that nothing wrong with looking and admiring.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@longhairedcougar He is your boss or you are his boss
longhairedcougar · 51-55, F
@bhatjc guess I told you about him on IM some time ago.. didn't I?
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@longhairedcougar You did miss
Not "wrong" in the moral sense.
Several changes could occur.
- She takes no action, eventually gets to know the coworker better (through the daily working processes, discovers her crush is not what she first imagined, and loses interest.
- She tries to initiate an affair and discovers her crush is not interested.
- She initiates, the crush accepts, they have an affair and it soon falls apart.
- She tells her husband. They divorce. She initiates, then discovers it was all a huge mistake and ends it.
- She doesn't tell her husband, initiates, the new lover turns out to be far better on every level (so far). She tells her husband or he finds out and they divorce.
- She tells her husband. He gets furious, but then they work out why she has those feelings, and they find a way to meet her needs for love (perhaps more romance/variety/better foreplay/more intimate communication of feelings/more quality time together, etc). She loses interest in the crush and their marriage improves.
- If the married couple already has kids, that complicates things and introduces more factors that could change the outcomes.

Moral of the story:
it's not the feelings that create the problems; it's what we choose to do about the feelings.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@hartfire That is deep
Graylight · 51-55, F
I'd say that's between the two married people. Everyone defines their sexuality, boundaries and agreements differently.

Flirtation is simply another form of communication. it makes no promises, demands nothing. It's simply a way to flatter and be flattered, and it occurs in some form another between all kinds of people.

I don't believe anyone can control their feelings for another. One can stay true to their boundaries, but it's important to understand and respect that not everyone's boundaries are the same.
noexpectations1 · 41-45, M
Doesn't matter where you get your appetite as long as you eat your meals at home!
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
@noexpectations1 Well said!
Lacemaker · 41-45, F
If you're attracted, you're attracted. It's what you do with that feeling is important.
It happens. Nothing wrong with that.
SW-User
There’s a difference between finding someone attractive and having feelings for them. If a married person finds someone else attractive I see no problem. But if they’re starting to act on it then yes it’s a problem.
We can't control who we get a crush on. It's how we react to that crush. Even a married women could follow through if her marriage was not up to par
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@looking4thesun Amen to that man
oldercanuck1 · 70-79, M
Not at all ,, life to short not to enjoy a good crush now and then ,,
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@oldercanuck1 Amen to that.👍
wetncthru · F
[@oldercanuck1 if you like a good crush, try The Metro in Tokyo!
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@wetncthru Good place to find a crush as well.
sarabi · F
Let me translate this- Do you think for a human being with a spectrum of emotions, that's in a socially constructed unity to feel an emotion and have natural bodily and mental reactions to outside stimulus which happens to be someone she frequently encounters?
@sarabi You couldn't do worse than what we have.
sarabi · F
@PhoenixPhail well, I should run for president in my country, but then I'd have to deal with all current presidents which is a not thanks. 😂
@sarabi I don't blame you one bit on that.
I wouldn't want to deal with them, either.

How do we end up with such miserable leaders?
Do the candidates all have to be crazy to begin with?
Graylight · 51-55, F
Sure. I love them. A little harmless spark in the day so long as everyone acts like an adult.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@Graylight Amen to that,Being friendly as well.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Just plain stupid and will lead to sexual harassment in the workforce
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@nedkelly Then HR gets in the picture,That is never good.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
Sometimes that can’t be helped but what would be wrong is if she acted on it
leahlikes · 18-21, F
natural i think
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@leahlikes It happens
leahlikes · 18-21, F
@ozgirl512 people don't become unattractive just because your with someone else
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@leahlikes Yup. True..
Amylynne · 26-30, F
do you want to act on it? do youo want to sneak around, and hope it does not get out?
is the attractions enough for you to deal with what might come?
Sometimes a crush is just that, a moment of Limerence let i cook a while.
if you dont act, it might be the best

Right or Wrong is up to the individual
how does it feel, "in your gut"
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
It would be wrong to act on it
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
It happens....
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@ozgirl512 that it does
angie8819 · 56-60, F
I think we all have them
BlueVeins · 22-25
ya can't really control your crushes, now can you? just your actions
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
I guess we are all only human, however to take it further, unless you are in an open relationship, now that would be wrong because it involves dishonesty
scorpio611 · 41-45, M
No nothing is wrong. Love/ Liking is never wrong, its the jealousy that is wrong. Its the fear that makes us think its wrong. Its all good if no one is hurt
JoeyFoxx · 56-60, M
I've had at least 3 crushes on co-workers over the years

And yet, in my life, I've only ever slept with my wife...
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@JoeyFoxx Sweet man
Carissimi · F
When I’m in love with a man, I don’t even notice other guys. It’s like they don’t exist, at least in a romantic way.
What about a married man having a crush on a coworker?
workinghard · 51-55, M
@WonderGirl1 Oh that happens all the time

Wrong implies a moral decision...a crush is what you're feeling...
JoeyFoxx · 56-60, M
@ozgirl512 I followed you to a post that's nearly 3 years old...
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Good point JF. I wonder what she ended up doing or not doing? @JoeyFoxx
Poppies · 61-69, F
Crushes are just thoughts. As long as they don't affect your real relationships, no problem.
mainvane · 61-69, M
its very natural
Graylight · 51-55, F
@mainvane Well, forgiveness is absolutely possible and the only reason scientists assume females are more monogamous and less sexually driven than men is that Darwin, the first and most influential writer on human evolution, unconsciously reflected the Victorian mores of his time. Meta-analyses of the data indicate there's little difference in rates of monogamy. It's just another BS alpha-male "we gotta breed" excuse.
mainvane · 61-69, M
@Graylight sounds like good, objective research wrapped in a rather subjective conclusion....are you a man hater?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@mainvane Absolutely not. And for the record, very few women are. What I am tired of is sooo many guys walking around with some BS argument in their head they use as an excuse for bad behavior. "It's in my genes, babe" doesn't really play in 2023. That is a subjective conclusion, you are correct, but I've heard the argument enough times to believe it's not irrelevant.
It's not wrong for a woman to have a crush on someone else. It's only wrong to act on it.
tag33 · 46-50, M
My wife has had sex with a coworker
@tag33 seems a tad more than a crush but I love how you both think😉
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@tag33 How did it began for your wife and he coworker.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@tag33 u ok with that?
SW-User
I don't think so as long as it doesn't go beyond boundaries.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@SW-User But depends on the boundaries those two have set
yes but it happens… human nature but it will pass if they ignore it and not act on it.
It is not necessarily wrong if you can do it secretly and nobody else is affected by it. It would have to be very carefully planned. Also, is the affair going to be a one time sexual encounter or a long term affair. Is the affair going to be just physical without either person falling in love with the other person. So once it has been carefully planned, enjoy it. 😜
SW-User
It’s normal, it’s weather you act on that feeling
Wantingwidow · 56-60, F
Not at all. You can’t help who you crush over
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Not as long as they keep it to themselves.
ncgremlin · 56-60, M
Not really I had a married woman flirt and have a crush on me. I had one on her
ncgremlin · 56-60, M

nuddie · 61-69, M
I have in the past
workinghard · 51-55, M
It's human nature
mainvane · 61-69, M
happens all the time
A crush is an emotional response. You got to have those. The question is do act upon that crush . If you don’t, it is likely to diminish
But if you fantasize about it, you may find yourself in trouble

How can anyone control having a crush on someone?
What may become wrong is acting on that crush(es) without letting your partner know.
@benfaltiger004 By meditating, or by choosing to turn one's attention to something else every time a distracting thought about the crush arises. By not looking at them or listening to them any more than is necessary for the sake of the job and politeness - or by transferring to a different department or job. Best of all, by fixing whatever is unsatisfactory in the marriage.

A crush starts with an instinctive and natural feeling of attraction - but it only grows from thoughts, by indulging in and cultivating the thoughts. It's actually a form of suffering, i.e. unfulfilled desire.
TakenDown232 · 46-50, M
Better to do it in an arrangement with your husband.
TakenDown232 · 46-50, M
@JulieTravels You must be honest and open to each other and adventurous.

But first you must be honest with yourself if you accept that your husband also have an affair with another woman.
JulieTravels · 26-30, F
@TakenDown232 that's not going to happen
TakenDown232 · 46-50, M
@JulieTravels ok then be careful all relations are exposed one way or another. Try to have affairs with someone out of your circle.
