What were you like in school?

Did your teachers like you?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I had an unshakeable belief in justice and a view on the right way of doing most things. Did my work on time, cooperated and volunteered for all the right things. Most teachers were just relieved that I was not like my next two sisters up who were legendary in their naughtiness 🤣 So on the surface my teachers liked me, but I reckon a fair few thought me a bit self-righteous and precocious 😉
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@SunshineGirl I would imagine that most teachers would appreciate students like you, it’s a lot better than the alternative :)
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@DHggmu Makes life easier, but also quite boring at times for a good teacher. I remember the chaplain (also my maths teacher) practically shoving me out of the door on a sunny Friday afternoon because I preferred to do my homework than play outside 🌞
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@SunshineGirl I guess it’s always good to have balance, even if you are a model student :) work hard play hard
OliRos · 18-21, F
Horrible. Very bright but very argumentative, disrespectful.

My teachers loved my work but I guess they were pretty pissed off with me and my behaviour.
OliRos · 18-21, F
@SunshineGirl I am pretty sure that most of my teachers did not welcome my "challenges".
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@OliRos Yeah I got worse the older I got, including in my focus and “intelligence” I just stopped caring.
OliRos · 18-21, F
@DHggmu I have never stopped caring about my studies. That's why I got away with so much bad behaviour.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Quiet kid in the back of the classroom. Most of my teachers didn't know my name and I hated when some did. I had performance anxiety and hated oral exams more than anything else. I also dreaded the possibility that some teacher might delegate me with some task like delivering something to some another teacher in the part of the building I didn't know 😆 , hence I always tried to sit as far from them as possible.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover I’ve always hated any kind of standing up and speaking to a group.. sometimes hiding makes you a target too.

I was a nightmare, the worst type of student, straight A’s in pretty much everything but very stubborn to do everything my way. I could be distributive or I could be quiet, also my English essays were always dark and some kink in them. I was self harming at the time and pissing off most teachers, some loved me, some did not trust me and some really struggled with me. University was a bit more for me.
TexChik · F
I was a very serious student and grade monger. My professors lloved me .
Degbeme · 70-79, M
A pain in the ass, pretty much the same as I am on here. 😬

Class clown but harmless enough to get away with most of it. I liked writing, art, automotive, science and band.
I liked school. I looked forward to go to art. The Art Teacher liked me so much that he kept me after school to clean his brushes.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Was invisible for the most part. Caused zero waves, except for the tidal wave that was my bangs.
I was the one you didn't want to sit next to at a serious assembly
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@saragoodtimes That was me and my friend group too haha.
craig7 · 70-79, M
I left school back in 1965,after 12 years,so a long time ago now.I was okay, didn't cause trouble around the place.Back then,I assumed that most of my teachers liked me - looking back now after so many years,I'm not so sure,I'd say there were varying views of me,if I can put it that way.
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
Bad attitude from what I was told. Straight A’s so teachers hated the combination. Fought to be the first female to take drafting in high school. Sounds silly now but just says how old I am!

Some things never change! 🙄🙄
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
And you say you're not a fighter
Handfull1 · 61-69, F
@HumanEarth definitely not physical tho!
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I was weird and kind of a loner
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
I was a fairly average student in my honors classes. I think some did but my first grade teacher and I went a few rounds. I am, shall we say, a wee bit stubborn and changing between tasks has always been difficult for me, especially if I'm in the zone🤷‍♀️
Sevendays · M
I was a really good student but had lots of fun too. I only got in trouble once but I did it well. I punched a substitute teacher because he slapped me for no reason at all. I actually didn't get expelled.

Extremely quiet and closed off. I read books to “disappear” from around everyone. Through high school anyway. I was a bit different in college. I was just a little competitive then, and liked scoring well. I still didn’t really talk much, but I made more efforts to. Overall, my teachers didn’t really like or dislike me as far as I noticed. (Except one who I argued with once)
Sometimes I didn’t feel like doing an assignment, and a couple of them let me get away with that because I was one of the only ones who regularly participated in classes.
exexec · 61-69, C
Teachers elected me the outstanding senior so I guess they liked me. I was a good student, good athlete, and a really bad dancer.
GLITTER · 36-40, F
I was pretty good tbh it was when I went to college my rebellious days started
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@GLITTER My decline from the start of high school to the end was dramatic, not sure if I regret it, but I made up for it in college.
Miklee02 · 51-55, F
I was social, teachers didn’t mind me and I made the most of those 4 years
Ontheroad · M
From K-8th I was a good kid who got good grades, but had the occasional lapse in judgment... teachers liked me except when I had my "lapses".

High school was a whole other story... seems my occasional lapses became daily lapses and only the shop teachers liked me. My two younger brothers had to live down my reputation.

College I did at night while an adult, and I was all nerd.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I was very polite to my teachers. I think they liked me
Bleak · 36-40, F
A Studious child.
My teachers adored me.
Blondily · F
Yes I was quiet and shy
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Dorky, most of them did.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Very, very average
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F

Musicman · 61-69, M
I got average grades. I wasn't in love with school, but I never caused trouble. I always did my work. And I was always respectful.
Katie01 · F
I was pretty popular. Helped bully one girl but wasn't a bully myself. Most teachers loved me, especially the one I briefly dated 😂
A slacker until college. The teachers who knew me, usually liked me, though. A few of them tried pushing my buttons to get more out of me.
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
Sullen, outcast nerdy metalhead, when I wasn't a bubbly outcast nerdy metalhead
Plasticbag · 100+, M
Mute. I stopped attending completely at one point and nobody noticed.
Krustytheclown05 · 26-30, M
I was a clown. Not much has changed
Djofull · 46-50, M
an outcast
Naughty
No

I am now a teacher
DDonde · 31-35, M
Quiet. Neurotic by the end.
For the most part, they did. I was shy, but I was a music nerd; played violin in the orchestra, pianist for the Glee Club, the Jazz Band and the drama department.
swirlie · 31-35, F
My gymnastics teacher liked me, but then again, I liked her too and she understood our girls gymnastic team like we were all a very cohesive family unit.

Having said that, I will also say that I got expelled twice from high school for two weeks each time during my 4 year tenure and the worst part is, I've never known anyone who ever got expelled from high school even once, except me!

I think to this day, I still hold the official record for the number of weeks being expelled from my rural town high school.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@swirlie Oh wow that’s a lot. But it highlights the fact that you don’t always need to be “taught” you shouldn’t be punished for something ultimately positive. If anything the teacher should have taken note of it and praised you, but maybe you hurt his pride and ego.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@DHggmu
His ego was definitely bruised the first day we met each other in my first year of high school. Keep in mind that I was a tall and very thin 14 year old Scandinavian gymnast teenaged extrovert with shaggy platinum blonde hair. My English Lit Teacher was a British man from Liverpool England who was 12 inches shorter than I was and looked just like Adolf Hitler in his appearance and his demeanor.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@swirlie The fact he’s from Liverpool is enough reason for me to take your side of things.
They hated me because not only did I never do homework, I always aced my tests and pop quizes, as well as often correcting their skewed uber religious teachings, it was in iowa during the 1980's.
