How can you get over someone quickly

Whats the fastest way to get over someone
dale74 · M
Why do women always want to get over a guy as quick as possible take time reflect on yourself and what values you have and what you want in another man and what their qualities you definitely do not want in another man before you just move on to someone else. The old saying the quickest way to get over a man is to get under a new one is nothing more than a sleazy pick up line it's not truth.

@dale74
You sound very experienced at dishing out pickup lines, dale. Is this how you know all these things about sleazy pickup lines guys use?
dale74 · M
@swirlie no but throwing your self from one bad situation to a possible worse one is not going to do anything but make things worse. True happiness comes from a mental state if you are not happy with yourself adding another person will not help you. And I don't think I have ever talked to you so you don't know anything about me. Maybe that is your problem you just assume the worst in people.

You can't, really. It takes time. There is a grieving process to go through.

Get under someone else
Idk about "quickly"
You can't really put a time on closure
Richard65 · M
If you could get over someone quickly, it suggests you weren't very invested in the relationship in the first place, so be careful what you wish for. If it takes a while to get over them, then it shows your commitment was genuine and your emotions are solid. Trying to get over someone quickly isn't being true to yourself, so embrace the pain. It shows you gave a lot of yourself to the relationship, which does you credit and makes you a decent human being. It's part of life, so experience it because we are the sum of our experiences.

@Richard65 So mature and true. Anything else just feels like some shallow cliché'.
Get under someone else?

@MyMonstersAreReal beat me to it
Fastest way is to get your memory erased like in the movie "Men in Black".

I don't know a way in real life. Let me know if you have found one.
Most here say, get along with some one else. It will distract you and you may move on. I would suggest you to take your time, reflect in the choices you made and feel the pain. This pain will only make you stronger. Looking for easy way out? Often leads to even more trouble. It could you again or some one else will feel used as an escape goat.
Take your time. Your body and mind will tell you when to move on. Find some challenge in your life

Think ahead of the resentment and regret you will experience 5 or 10 years from now over the time you are wasting now, of the opportunities missed and lost because you decided to indulge in self pity rather than celebrate the freedom gained by cutting your losses.

I do it by staying busy

When my wife dumped someone in college, she kept them as friends and worked hard to gete them hooked up with someone else. That seemed to work.
Mudkip · 31-35, M
Maybe not quickly, but effectively. Reflect on what went wrong and accept the outcome. Truly come to peace with it, and let it go.

My best guess is get a new someone but that doesn’t always work either so. Like try and dream up a plan and just do it see if it works
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
There is no fast way if you actually cared. But, if you can give yourself the “ick” about him it helps get that started.
Penny · 46-50, F
focus on the negatives instead of the positives about your relationship
in10RjFox · M
Quite simple.. bring in more people into life .. involve or get involved.
Northwest · M
Stop checking out their social media, and thinking about them.
Distract yourself.
level40two · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat cute answer, but wrong. If it is just a superficial friendship/relationship, then maybe that would work. On the other hand, if this had been a deep, personal relationship, I refer you back to my response to this question.
@level40two It helps.
