Faith isn't much different than your belief that your money is safe in a bank or the government will protect you. You can't actually "see" either entity but believe it is there. God is a similar concept. But we actually feel God within us. And you can believe or not in God and not belong to a particular religion. The choice is entirely yours. It's called free will. But God will always welcome you following his path.

@Livingwell I can't "choose" to believe anything. I can pretend to believe things, but I can;t choose to believe them. I either believe something, or I don't.
I like what Grace said. Religion is different than actually have a personal relationship with God. Jesus love all of us! I denied him for a long time. Then one day I started reading the Bible. I began in Revelations of all things. After Revelations, I started at the beginning of the New Testament. Let me tell ya, it came alive for me. Whenever I was struggling, I opened the Bible and it had the answer to my problem. Something inside of me kept tugging on my heart and I finally stopped pushing him away. I have a lot of courage, strength, joy and serenity in my life now because I have a personal relationship with Jesus. I went to different churches until I found one that felt like home. I felt extremely uncomfortable at first. Then I started meeting other gals at church. They are the funnest, wildest, kindest people that I have met. Now, I get excited every Sunday to go. I embraced the awkwardness and pushed myself to go. Now, I'm a completely transformed woman through Christ. January 1, 2021 I accepted him into my heart.

@PromiseProtectionProvision But we’re not all Christian, and not all religions revolve around the Nazarene.
@PromiseProtectionProvision he is the way the truth and the life, no one goes to the father except through him.

@PromiseProtectionProvision Well said. It's a personal choice and having a relationship is different from religion.
I don't find peace in religion. Religion is man-made philosophy. It did not die on the cross for my sins. The person of Jesus did. Salvation is not about different denominations. It's about faith and trust in Jesus Christ. It is not the different denominations or religions one chooses that saves us, but the work of Christ on the cross to pay for our sins. That's something anyone can have if they will put their trust in Jesus. It's not hard. Millions have done it. There is no substitute for Christ. He didn't leave us to guess about how to have salvation. It is in the Bible. Jesus came to save the whole world from the condemnation that sin placed on us. This is why we need him, in order to get to heaven and once we place our trust and faith in him and his promise to forgive us of our sins, which brings us back into right standing with God the Father, He promises that heaven will be ours. He turns no one away. He is trustworthy. He has been my Savior since July 11th, 1973 and he has never let me down. He'll do the same for anyone who comes to him. That is one of his promises and he always keeps his promises. There's no reason why any should do without Christ or salvation.

I agree . I even wrote my own version of the generic abrahamic version(s). Hoping itd bring me that level of comfort. Instead only more uncertainty. So i intellectually combining it with eastern traditions, which did bring me "comfort" for awhile. Ultimately, deriving comfort from religion, instead of using reasoning to understand reality is just lazy.
Now i recognize it was all plagarized anyway, so; I wrote my own. May our Grandiosse OverlorD (GOD) bless you! Ramen.

It’s a very good thing to have in your life. Don’t get stuck on dogma and which way you have to believe in god. Try to accept god as the unknown. A force that unites all the unknown in the universe. That is the beginning of belief. Certainly whatever god is… god is definitely the unknown endlessness of the unknown universe and how it all works. That is a believable beginning.

I'm an atheist. We really are never alone.
BlueSkyKing · M
"There are, after all, atheists who say they wish the fable were true but are unable to suspend the requisite disbelief, or who have relinquished belief only with regret. To this I reply: who wishes that there was a permanent, unalterable celestial despotism that subjected us to continual surveillance and could convict us of thought-crime, and who regarded us as its private property even after we died? How happy we ought to be, at the reflection that there exists not a shred of respectable evidence to support such a horrible hypothesis.”
