It's hard to know what someone else is thinking or what they want when they don't know themselves...I think accepting that is helpful when trying to understand others. Both men and women.

And golden rule, treat others as you wish 2b, or platinum rule or better than you wish to be.

I think everyone like to have their confidence raised, so legitimate praise is a big one...

What's wrong in the first place, if I may ask to get the full picture?
I think what works with me is being neutral and a little distant. Don't expose too much about yourself. Don't treat them much differently than women though, at least at the point of being noticeable. And keep your opinions about gender differences and relationships between men and women to yourself, until you get to know theirs first. And do not think of them as your responsibility. I think a lot of problems and inequalities arise from women being too available and too protective.
There's lots of talk about decentering men lately, but that requires decentering sex too, if you're straight.

You don't know what's running in their mind, simply as they don't know what is in yours, how you feel, what you want. The emotions we feel is a world made by us, it's neither the real world, nor theirs.

You can satisfaction by two things giving and receiving. Giving is in your control, receiving is not. But giving requires you to believe that you are the only truth, don't have any expectation. If something comes to you enjoy it, but don't expect. Learn to be happy & satisfied in giving. For that you might have to detach your SELF with your created world(expectations emotions, dreams, etc.)

Yes. Don't do anything unless it comes naturally for you. You as a female, are already the one who's in charge of the relationship, not him, so understand that going in. It's not up to you to accommodate the unique disposition of a man, it's up to him to accommodate your's. If he doesn't like who you are at face value, tell him to move on.
