What do you think is the main reason people cheat?

I think it’s a combination of needs not being met ( fridgid ) , someone new , the excitement , the risks and lack of communication between couples .

My wife only cheated on me in college. She was horny and I was only able to see her once or twice a month. Upperclassmen were constantly asking her out. She couldn't handle her rum once she was out with another man. She enjoyed it. I might add that when I asked her to stop dating others, thus having sex with them, she stopped immediately.

Many times, it's neglect. Might not even be sexual. I think being accepted and respected is given short shrift when it comes to matters like this.

men - don't want to be monogomous and need a little variety

women - don't cheat unless their emotional need isn't met

as with any generalization there is a lot of room for variety

Same principle as why ppl look for a new job while having one. Security and stability, so u can jump ship when it best suits you.

Wrong question. They don't cheat but rebel against the subjugation or being cheated by a promise. They agree being forced by convention but later find that nothing works as agreed.
