Do you believe in soulmates? Only one? Many?

ElRengo · 70-79, M
The expression "soulmate" entails some excessive assumptions that I don´t share.
But I may formulate something near to it in my own experience and words.

There was one woman that I knew and loose in our both mature years.
If I could choose, I can´t but if I could....

I would choose to become her love since both our youths.
I would choose to live my whole life at her side,
I would still be with her,
And no other woman, past or future, could or can dream to compete with the bless of her smiles for me. And or with our mutual desire and passion.

Don´t know if a soulmate, but can´t imagine someone better.

Many.

I think certain people we meet during certain times. We see/show what we need during that time with them. We learn, we grow… sometimes apart
curiouspirit · 36-40, F
@WaryWitchWandering I totally agree!
Indy74 · 46-50, F
@WaryWitchWandering i also agree with what you are saying!!

Yes and i do believe that it's only one, but there's many you can fall in love with. There's only one that is the lost part of you and most people never meet their other half.
Mirkwood · 36-40, M
Soulmates and only one yes.

BUT, i dont believe or like to think "the only one" either.
Because we are some billion people, and surely there could be more than one.
But we need to make commitment ofc, to someone we really like or have passion for.

A coworker once said to me he just want to die if wife died. To me that sounded a little wrong, and unhealthy. And would ask, and would your wife want that? And what about kids.
But ofc, can just be exteme expression, wanting to say she is really the one. But still he would not do such.

I believe in soulmates, my married life I was with one. Once we divorced, the spark faded. Hopefully, it will happen again. If not, it wasn't meant to be
Not so sure about "soulmates" but certainly have a few friends that I share a lot in common with a couple of them go back a decade or so from EP.
Bri89 · 31-35, M
I don't believe that everyone gets one, but I do believe that if you have one and that's it. You don't get another one.
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@curiouspirit] 🤔 some are soulmates alright 😆
robb65 · 56-60, M
I got mixed feelings about the subject. Part of me ask "what if that one person was born too early or too late or too far away?" It doesn't seem logical that there could be only one and you could spend a lifetime searching and miss them. Another part says " you know, once upon a time I met someone who would have been perfect...."
WhateverWorks · 36-40
Only figuratively. I believe e in feeling a meaningful chemistry to someone, developing a deep bond, and the possibility of having a healthy, lasting relationship.

Predestined people? Divided souls? Only one person out there for you? No.
Greyjedi · M
The belief i heard is there are many soulmates and many types of soulmates. Some soulmates are friends some are family and others are romantic. There are also something called twinflames. There are only a few and they are very “spicy” relationships.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@hunkalove Well, that was succinct. 🐵

Bodies have genders and may require a mate, souls don't have gender. So conceptually, there cannot be any soulmate. What most people relate to, is the Perfect Mate.
Digoutyoursoul · 31-35, F
I do, but think there can be more than one that you connect with in life.
in10RjFox · M
I believe in multiple soul mates ... You may read my stories here on the topic
I think of it more as sole mate not soul mate
in10RjFox · M
@SStarfish true .. many look for the sole to possess ..
Tracos · 51-55, M

I do not really believe in souls to be getting paired off, but I believe in deep meaningful bonds. Some of them seem to come all too easily as if it were meant to be, but I do not think it is restricted to one.
Bang5luts · M
😪 I used to..
strongbow · 46-50, M
'Soulmates' is bullshit, theres a reason theres a 50% divorce rate and many more unhappy marriages
