I can't recall the last book that I read, but the one that I am currently reading is called The Last Thing You Surrender by Leonard Pitts, Jr. It's about racial tensions during WW2.

Proving Ground, the latest Lincoln Lawyer book by Michael Connelly. I love the way his characters age and evolve, and how recent events are woven into the subtexts. The Lincoln Lawyer has switched from criminal defense to civil litigation, now has an office and only uses the Lincoln for optics. Ex-wife lost her home in the Altadena fire. And the lawsuit involves an AI chatbot influencing a teenage boy to kill the girlfriend who dumped him, and is partially based on an actual legal case in Florida.
Just started historian Jon Meacham's latest, American Struggle: Democracy, Dissent, & The Pursuit Of A Perfect Union. An anthology of writings, speeches from pre-Revolution throughout U.S. history during periods of major ideological conflicts showing that democracy has a long history of surviving challenges to our forefather's vision.
Yeah, I'm an eclectic reader.
