Heard of most of them, used most of those, not very often for most of them though.

I know a few of them. The manager of our local Internet cafe likes the word "discombobulated", I've often heard him say it. He also says "lollygag" occasionally. "Gobbledygook" is still quite commonly used around here, and so is "jiggery-pokery". I've known the words "agog", "hullabaloo", "kerfuffle", "malarkey", "quire" and "skedaddle" since I was in school. I know one woman who calls armpits "oxters" and she's local (not Scottish or Irish).

Interesting! Heard of maybe half of these. I must revisit this list at some point to see where some of them come from. 7 and 12 obviously French, 36 Scottish, 39 German...the rest don't know.

I knew 1 3 6 8 13 14 16 17 20 and 26 and recognised 9 when you said it - so not bad I think.

I knew roughly one fourth of the list. Of those, I've probably actually used about half.

The one I have used most often is probably "discombobulate."
