Is it only me who likes physical books way more than the E-books?

What's your opinion?
Poppies · 61-69, F
Almost everyone I know prefers physical books, including me. However, I sometimes choose e-books due to convenience when traveling and due to running out of space at home.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Poppies I used to pack a library when I travelled! I have cut back, largely due to electronic alternatives.
Rob04 · 18-21, M
Definitely actual book.
Girlbehindthecurtain · 31-35, F
Same, but since my vision isn't the greatest i can only read e-books
exchrist · 31-35
I prefer hard copies ebooks are so much easier to store and transport but paper hooks are less of a strain on the eyes

Physical books every time. I love 'em. Best invention ever.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Richard65 Never need batteries recharged.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
No I love physical books. I don't like reading off screens.
ONLY real physical books for me
robertsnj · 56-60, M
i like phyiscal books more too I think most older people will feel that way too--use to that format. But i realize one day i won't be able to have space or mobiltity and e-books will be the only feasible option.

I love them much more. Easier to handle and read and they don't smoke when you drop them in the bath!
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Judging by the thousands of physical books in our house, I;d say i go for the physical ones.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Both book and print newspaper. There is something about the tactile feel of a book in hand, beyond just being an ol' coot with fond memories, imho. And yes, I know the news is stale and past its trending expiration date by the time it hits my driveway, but with a little luck there is more context, detail, nuance. But I have cut back from 5 newspapers to just two.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@dancingtongue Yes, got to have my newspaper in the morning -- if for nothing else than the crossword puzzle, etc.
I prefer pages to screens. Easier to read them for long periods of time.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
It’s nice to have a physical book honestly.

DrWatson · 70-79, M
I definitely prefer physical books.

I like the feel of them. I like the look of the print on paper. I feel closer to the author.

I especially like reading an old book, from a used bookstore or a library. It makes me feel physically connected with the past.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I like physical books, too, but I only have a finite ammount of shelf space.

So using E-books is a good way to complement my physical book collection without running out of shelf space.
AccursedAlexander3 · 31-35, M
I definitely have to agree. Ebooks aren’t the same as the feel and smell and crispness of a new book. The sound it makes when you open it for the first time.
CBarson · 51-55
Ebooks and audiobooks are great for novels and poetry, but books with lavish illustrations should not be experienced on a screen the size of an index card
PleasurePunch · 100+
I'm blind up close so I need that light and focus looking at the screen...
though I would rather have a book in my lap

I had about 400 books, until I ran out of room. I like to have the book in my hands when I'm reading it...
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
I read only physical books and I have a large library at home. I travel frequently and always take 2-3 with me.
