I think the only movie I have seen that was better than the book was Dune. 1984. Not the TV Series
I read the book in 1980
I found the book very hard to read and comprehend. The movie clarified everything for me.

I like to see the movie because it doesn’t affect how I perceive the book, overall I like to see what others imagine. When I read the book again I still get my original imaginations.

I am very similar, I do not want to see it right away, but after years have past and the vividness of the novel has left my mind, then I find I can enjoy the movie a bit better.

I love seeing the movie after reading the book, especially if I've enjoyed the book. Sometimes I hate the movie (which is kinda fun in itself) but most of the time it's a huge delight to see beloved characters played out.

The film usually spoils the story a bit as the characters are never what they are in my head.

I've always been disappointed by the movies adapted from novels that I liked. I don't even try to see them now.

I'm usually caught - wanting to see it, and dreading how botched it will probably be
