If a movie is made of a novel you enjoyed, do you usually want to see the movie?

Of would you rather hold onto the images that formed in your head from reading the book?

I usually do not want to see the movie. Or if I do, it has to be a long time after I have read the book.

I think the only movie I have seen that was better than the book was Dune. 1984. Not the TV Series
I read the book in 1980
I found the book very hard to read and comprehend. The movie clarified everything for me.
