What does it mean when someone has to post selfies of them doing every little thing on social media?

Are they shallow and in constant need of attention or validation from others?

No… it doesn’t mean that… but I did finish my bagel 🥯

I’m not sure if they are: shallow, self centered, manipulative (marketing themselves to climb a social ladder), or if they are missing some type of balance in their own life. Need to feel famous, trying to make money? Just trying to connect with others, dedicated and using it as a historical journal? Have other friends who do the same, it was supposed to be fun, to share photos, but when I realized others used it for way off track gossip I quit that. I still take pictures but I keep them to share with family and very close friends.

i think social media is all about the exchange of attention — we all want it. some people just want it on their face. this person must have an exceptional amount of free time

On some sites engagement helps post reach. The smallest thing may get someone interacting with you.

Yes. It means they are a narcissist. SO vain and SO insecure that all they can think of is themselves.

It is probably a combination of what you said and loneliness.

It's annoying... But lots of people seem to enjoy checking out others too

Ah, if it makes them happy, I say go for it. As long as the images being posted aren't of abuse
I think its jist a sign of the times mixed with the affects of a slowly rl desocialising society.

When you lose one norm, it has to be replaced. My worry with this is, people are becoming self obsessed, rather than cognitively interactive.

Interaction is based on impact rather than circumstance, experience and flow .

I feel its a little dysfunctional. But then , i think humanity is becoming dysfunctional . So maybe its just the new 'normal'🤷‍♀️
