I'm the same - after my daughter got upset about how I handled her desire to get fully into Halloween last year (I don't believe in it) I've said she can decorate her room.

On the road where I live I've seen only two houses with outsides decorated already for Halloween on about 3 km of road with about 100 houses along it.

The rule of thumb is that if going trick-or-treating, only go to marked/decorated houses.

What I don't understand about it is the 'trick or treat' bit. Kids want lollies so I don't know how the 'trick' bit works.

Don't let the stories scare you and deprive your children from experiencing Halloween for themselves.

I only got to do it when I was 15... and I feel like I was robbed. I'm too old to go by myself now.

I’ve never decorated inside. Only outside.

Where I live, kids don’t come to houses that don’t have decorations or, at the very least, a pumpkin because it’s a sign they are not giving out candy at that house

I bought two 9$ bags of chocolates.. one for the neighbor kids and one for me 😅

I use plain orange icicle lights from the dollar stores

Brussel Sprouts Dipped in Chocolate and wrapped up in Ferrero Rocher wrappers.
